Probably caused by the fantastic catering services and power needed to supply at Kiln Brow !

...and I got there around 4pm to trial run a curry sauce cheeseburger, then the Power supply people turned up to investigate, anyhow power is back on so fingers crossed for next Tuesday 17th for the re-arranged fixture.

I think it may not be on this date, looks like some repair work is scheduled after this date....

Looks like you'll need to stock-up with shed-loads of 50p's then.

No reducing the the supply to inferior mustard to cover the cost.

From Fans Forum

Kensington Borough 4-3 Raynes Park Vale
(Combined Counties, Cherry Red Records, Premier Challenge Cup, Round 2)
- played at The Orchard, Hatton Road, Bedfont from 7.45pm (home of Bedfont & Feltham FC)

Att – around 30 (h/c); Entry - £5; Prog £1 (simple); Cuppa – none available
Weather – breeze and drizzle to start .. a cold front passing .. deluge .. wind changed 90 degrees and then cleared out.
Travel – M27, M3, M25 and A30 .. both ways as A3 shut back .. with another closure close to home.
Colours – Borough in all blue .. Vale in the same but with yellow tops .. is this allowed one asked .. tongue.gif

Well is it me .. or simply that football being played inside the M25 of the Combined Counties League Division 1, always seems to leave a smile on my face .. it started with Cobham FC a couple season’s back .. their flowing football and individuals just wanting to attack, going about their game with the innocent of youth and a joy to watch play .. then visiting Chalky Lane for Chessy football .. then came the Farleigh Army .. before the nomads of AC London, who threw up a style of enthusiasm and game that was something out of the surreal .. and then last night .. Kensington Borough .. whose desire for silky moves, whilst challenged by naivety, was seen throughout every move .. just providing another night of smiles on this Non League spectator’s face.

Some minor gremlins on this first night under the floodlights for our hosts .. the turnstile took a while to unlock .. the lights were turned on about twenty minutes before kick off .. programmes arrived just ten minutes before kick off .. no catering was available inside the ground .. the corner flags were put up at kick off .. and the teams walked out not quite together and certainly providing no normal line of hand shakes .. oh and the colours being worn were just separated by the visitors yellow tops .. but the football .. oh the football .. carefree and mistakes .. yet played with gay abandon.

The Orchard had been spruced up since my last visit, at the end of last season .. the infills to perimeter now all in place with crisp elongated pallets on three sides of pitch .. the plywood repaired on far side, covered in part with adverts .. then our two main stands, opposite on half way and in much use tonight .. the west side getting more leeward protection .. which as usual, also gave sight of the incoming “big birds” .. and once the rain had cleared .. the metal tubes kept coming .. lined up and five deep .. with lights beaming from afar and that noise all around .. returning home from those distant lands.

.. and the game, well I smiled a lot .. and it could of easily been Raynes Park’s night but they missed a fair few during the first half, when they had much the upper hand .. eventually seeing heads drop, as our hosts fluent play and constant attacks came throughout the second and finally told .. with a procession of goals, that unfolded,

1-0 – 4th minute .. solo break down the left from half way .. into the box .. and ball into net.
1-1 – 10th .. defensive mistake lets in forward to slot home
2-1 – 37th .. counter attack, player holds off defender, slides through ball to forward out right, shoots and scores from edge of box
HT 2-1
2-2 – 59th – a ball lost in midfield is punished with run and ball tucked away
3-2 – 79th - great run by midfielder, shrugs off chasing defender and hits a low shot into bottom left, from edge of box
4-2 – 84th – sees some short inter-passing down the right, with skip and hop along by-line, before chipping ball into bundle of players central, then goal
4-3 – 89th - play comes in from wide right, passed along and forward nips into box and dispatches across face of keeper into far net of goal.
FT 4-3

.. yes crazy .. wonderful smiling stuff .. and I’ve still got FC Deportivo Galicia to come .. wink.gif
