Merthyr on Tuesday

The greatest comeback I can remember was over a two match tie in 1961 Spurs first foray after winning the double in the old European cup They were drawn against Polish champions Gornik from Katowice and were 4-0 down midway through the second half but recovered to lose 4-2 At White Hart Lane they scored another 8 goals and won the tie 10-5..

What was the Barcelona comeback vs PSG last season?

interesting to read. One of their fans was saying ' let's hope that effort has taken its toll on them'

It's a relevant point to consider but we did not have a hard game , MT were not a physical side , the pitch was of course fine and second half we did not have to chase them it was more like attack vs defence training !

The test is mental , how do we guard against a St Neots performance , and physical , how will the players keep up their energy levels after a late night run home and work the next day!

Last season we went off like a rocket . Won 9 of our first 11 league games only lost 1 . This season we have won the same but lost 2 . Now we have to better last seasons 2nd quarter where we only won 5. This is where the squad rotation kicks in big time.

I think the Managers know what their best team is but we can't play that team for 55+ games.

They are going to have to make some big calls in the coming weeks.

............But this season we have a better all round squad. Our managers will have learn't by last season falling off and it won't be taken lightly this time around.

Promotion last season was too early for our team,as we didn't have the quality to take us over the finishing line or to keep us in the Conference South. This season we have, I believe this group of players could handle Conference South football, if they can achieve promotion, with the vast majority likely to get a shot at it [all being well].

Currently there are a lot of teams vying for the top spot but it won't be till about February that we will see who the pretenders are for the title and which teams really mean business.

It was heartening to see Gary House's photo's of the Merthyr game,as I didn't see the match. What was particularly notable, was the whole squad celebrations at the end of the game. This spirit of togetherness and comraderie is an ideal team builder for the success of this squad.

Can't wait for another thrilling instalment on Saturday !

Looking at the current top five, Kettering, Slough, Hereford, Kings Lynn and Weymouth I think it will take something out of the ordinary to shift 'the big 5'.

Always possible and it's early days but I'd lay odds that these will be the teams at the top come April.

My only concern will be when play away on crap pitches during Winter,St.Ives comes to mind, they do not help our style of play last season we really did not have a plan B in the middle part of season and only picked up at back end of season. But have to agree the squad is a lot stronger which gives us more options.

How much are you drinking Susie??? Not even the most positive fans would think there’s a way back at 0-4 down! We’ll have to save this in the ‘bad day at the office’ file. Real shame as I fully expected at least a draw tonight, just have to hope this doesn’t affect confidence/minds too much for Saturday.

Would you like some sauce to go with your 'words' when you eat em, Glen ??

"It ain't over til the......"

Must have been a load of Fat Ladies there on the night.  Hang on  -  South Wales. That answers my quote immediately above, and the Welsh are well known for their singing.

Doh !

Good win anyway.  Congrats.
