PROPER FA CUP GAME!

Good all round performance against decent, if not niggly oposition - all players put in a shift.

Highlight of the game was Radders being told off by the council ballboy for language, even though he was keeping it clean! Jobsworth!

Mistaken identity I think, the bloke a few down shouted "f'ing zimmerframe" to the keeper at around the same time.

Great result and 100% deserved IMO. You can see how Poole are struggling in their league as apart from a pee roller shot straight at Turner, they didnt create anything really. Great performance from the Rebels and once again today tough to pick a MOM. Unsung hero of the day for me was Josh Jackman who had an excellemt game capped off with a last ditch tackle in the 95th minute with the Poole forward through.

Didnt think much of the referee, was poor throughout for both sides. Seems like the 3rd qualifying round brings out the worst in the refs as the 1 we had against Dartford last year was even worse than the guy today.

Fantastic to be in the hat for the next round and im sure a home draw will hold no fear for us and plenty of worry for anyone we play.

RESILIENCE.

This team just doesn't want to give up sometimes. I don't think many people ever thought we would lose during the match but for long periods it just didn't seem like we would find a way to get the winner, but up steps George Wells with what can only be described as a speculative effort at goal to win the match. As the saying goes; if you don't shoot you don't score!

It was really tough picking MotM with several players having good games though I would say no one had a great game. Looking back now Nathan Smart was solid as was Josh Jackman with Lee Togwell constantly closing down their midfield winning the ball back for us.

Into the next round and another £7,500 (£15,000 in total). Another home draw please.

p.s. It was nice to have a vocal away support for once and I hope we made enough noise today to please all the moaners. Not sure I will have a voice left tomorrow but it made it a proper FA Cup game.

The one time I don't swear and I get told off. Unless the words flappy mcflapperson is now swearing - I'm open to be told differently!!! Great performance especially second half, for me MOTM between Fraser, wells, togs, jackman and manny but would probably just plump with the latter. Even dobbo and floody, who I felt had quiet games by their standards, combined for an excellent first goal. Home tie against dog and duck fc next please before a nice home time against Blackburn or Portsmouth in round 1!!! COYR!!!

So the Conference National teams enter at the 4th Qualifying Round, anyone know if this round is still regionalised? On one hand it’ll be great to get a hom draw and you’d hope near capacity crowd against Maidenhead, Leyton Orient, Woking or Tranmere but you’d also want one of the lowest ranked side too. I just hope it’s not away to a very good ‘small’ side...

I thought it was a strangely subdued first half with neither side stamping their authority on the game. One effort straight to the keeper from us and one save from Jack Turner and the goal from Poole were the sum total of the efforts on goal.

Having said that, some people I spoke to at half time thought we played very well in the first half so what do I know?

Second half was a completely different story where we looked much more lively and having to force the issue we then started to create a lot more chances.

Very well taken goal from Floody and a fierce shot from Wellsy spilled into the net by the Poole keeper.

I thought the Ref was weak for both sides allowing a lot of time wasting to go on.

Excellent result from the boy's and in the hat for the next round!

COYR!!!

It's a north/south divide (but where the line is drawn is anyone's guess) so we wouldn't get Tranmere but there are plenty of huge clubs we could draw!

I didn't think the ref was that bad, to me he largely kept the game flowing and didn't resort to loads of bookings.

Agree about the game, though, SloughFlyer, thought Slough were by far the better team on the day. That said, I didn't think Slough were at their best, we had spells of good play but were patchy.

Lee Togwell was my man of the match. Closely followed by Manny Williams. Notable mentions also were Matt Lench, Josh Jackman and George Wells.

When we got the equalizer I was hoping we would get at Poole more than we did.

We were rather fortunate to take the lead with George's shot and the Poole keeper's blunder.

Before the winner I thought we had lost a lot of momentum and was amazed that Bakes and Unders seemed content to not make substitutions, something I was getting frustrated at.

I had visions of the game going to a replay.

I suppose their patience paid off in the end but for me I still think we let Poole off the hook to a certain extent.

Anyway, we're into the next round, that's what matters.

Bloody fantastic today. Forget the keeper howler (although it was funny) that second half performance deserved the rewards. Lench upped his game 2nd half, Manny superb throughout, Flood worked hard and great header, Togs everywhere. The defence were good and Turner solid but weren't put under that much pressure which is great credit to everyone.

The keeper howler reminded me of Erik Thorstvdt's debut for Spurs v Forest for anyone with long memories, poor chap.

I thought Matt Lench played well through out the game and what was pleasing is he didn't shirk from making challenges and was willing to work hard in closing down.Something that's not really his forte.

I thought it was one of his best games in a Slough shirt. He's certainly a talented footballer and he is a player that makes things happen.

What a game it was to watch....

At half time I was thinking it would not be our day with so few chances in a tight game and being behind. Then I witnessed us once again up our game and in truth it could have easily been more.

Wells and Jackman were superb at getting the ball down the line and looking for small openings when they were not being given much time at all......Togs always wanted to ball, so assured of himself which is great......Manny and Floody excellent against big strong defenders.

Next round I would either like to see us play someone still in from lower level/ same level/ bottom of Conference South

Else, you could look at it and say the someone like Leyton Orient/Wrexham at home is as good a tie as you would get in the first round proper anyway so lets get it now :)

Maybe these will change your mind about first half.

We all see things differently, at half time I spoke to Reading Rebel, who thought Slough had been lacklustre first half, whereas I thought we had started nervy and tentative for the first ten minutes but had done reasonably well for the rest of the half and were very unlucky to be 1-0 down.

Though, Warren Bentley did make mugs out of Nathan Smart, Mark Nisbet and Josh Jackman for Poole's opener. They all seemed to slip and miss the livewire striker. I was impressed by Bentley. You can see why he banged the goals in for Winchester City.

Thankfully, Slough as a team defended well second half, although the Jack Turner punch was a cock up we got away with.

Second half I still thought we were by far the most creative team on the pitch but I did think we didn't quite build up the head of steam needed to steam roller Poole.

A deserved win but I thought we played better against Dulwich in the previous round.

Game of opinions !

Spoke to a couple of Poole fans who thought second half , we were the best team they had played this season ! Nice then , if we felt that we were not quire up to our usual standards.

Thought we controlled the game pretty well , unlucky slip led to the goal but was a good finish . Key was we came out fired up for second half , just lacked the killer finish ,and their keeper provided that. That's the warm - up done now on to the main event - Beaconsfield !,
