The quiz in the Slough programme

Seems there's teething problems with our quiz. Not for the first time are the answers missing, and have the wrong set of answers to it.

Thought I'd let whoever compiles it and edits, know, as least there's one fan out here who reads the programme and does the quiz.

Oh and by the way, question 25, what was the name of the dog carried into space aboard Sputnik 2 ?

Wasn't Rover was it ! ha ha ! It's bugging me not knowing.......

It was something the club had been looking at over the summer to improve and add to the program. I'll let Steve Chapman (editor) know and he will try to get it sorted asap.

Any other problems let us know and we will get them sorted.

I have been helping out to make changes to the program since the summer and have started to write articles. Since I have a contact with the editor I offered to bring forward the suggestion to help correct it for future reference.

If that makes me a representative of the club then so be it. But at no point have I ever said I was.

ER, unless you don't want any problems or issues ever to be solved at the club now or in the future perhaps it's time to get off your high horse and let people actually help when they can without pointing any fingers at them or trying to accuse them of anything.

The dog Laika, the first living creature to orbit the Earth, did not live nearly as long as Soviet officials led the world to believe. The animal, launched on a one-way trip on board Sputnik 2 in November 1957, was said to have died painlessly in orbit about a week after blast-off

Thanks ALL for all the replies regarding the programme, and the Sputnik 2 dog question.

On the dog that died harmlessly, I would have rather they had sent a human mass murderer, one less for prison !

That would seem a fitting end to someone who didn't care about life on Earth.
