Dunstable at home 9th September

Back to the league this weekend and a home match against a Dunstable side who have lost four of their league matches, conceding 20 goals and scoring once, and managed a 1-1 at Royston in their other one.

They have lost to some good clubs though..... Banbury, Redditch, Merthyr and Kings Langley.

Results would seem to indicate they may be short on confidence, but if they are competitive and still in with a chance at half-time are capable of battling for a point.

Betway are quoting us at odds of 1/9 (so nothing to be made there), with a Dunstable win quoted at 16/1, and the draw at 7/1.

Anyone know why the 'money man/men' left? Did only take them 5 years to realise they were wasting their money and there was no potential?

I think you're right their Glen.

If a person puts their money into a club the very least he expects is for the locals to respond with improved support but the owner gave it his best shot and was let down.

I think I've read it right - the backers wanted to do similar to Worcester City and move Dunstable down to Level 5 in the hope of making it more financially sustainable. The hardcore supporters led by the guy who writes the match reports on their forum rejected this and have taken over the running of the club. Hence the budget is now greatly diminished and the players accordingly
