Great draw! Fairly local (well for Slough based fans!), a match we should win (will resist typing comfortably...) but with added spice with the ex players/manager.

Berko are top of the Spartan Premier with two wins from two.

 

We can go into the game with confidence but it's the FA Cup so not to be taken lightly.

I'm sure we'll rotate the squad for this game but should still have enough quality to win. Of course anything could happen but if we play to our normal standard then we'll be through.

It would be great to have a good cup run this season..... and to be drawn against a club two levels lower is a reasonable opportunity to start one.

It was. Michael Gilkes scored our goal that day, and another former manager, Eddie Denton was in the starting lineup!

 

One thing that caught me out is that it's a different Berkhamsted club to the one we played before. Berkhamsted Town folded back in 2009.

Cheered as he was sent off as I recall. I think we lost 3-1 that day as Steve Browne came on for the last 10 minutes

None of the players in their squad from Saturday are ex-Slough. I can't think of a former Slough player there.

I've looked at Berko's squad for all their games so far this season and the only players I recognize are Jon Munday who I think signed for us under SB but only ever played in a pre season friendly and Stacey Field who played for Aylesbury United against us.

Berko are already talking the game up as a 'Plum tie' and the 'Magic of the FA Cup is still alive'.
