Jeffers plea not an option - Wenger

Arsene Wenger claimed he never considered asking Everton to leave Francis Jeffers out of the side that denied Arsenal full points on Wednesday.

Jeffers, back on loan at Goodison Park for the season after an unhappy spell at Highbury, bounced off the bench to help create the Tomasz Radzinski goal that gave Everton a deserved 1-1 draw after Kanu had put the Gunners in front.

It would have been easy for Wenger to insist Jeffers did not play against the club who hold his registration, but the Arsenal manager said: "That is something I would never do. It never crossed my mind.

"I never thought of asking them not to select Jeffers, because I am completely against that rule.

"That rule is immoral. If you take the rule to its extent it means the rich can give to the poor but they cannot be allowed to harm us. The rule is immoral and should be illegal.''

So what about not allowing Leeds to play Pennant in the FA Cup?

In his defence, that is slightly different as Pennant would have been cup-tied, therefore unable to play for Arsenal in a later round.

Unless, of course, he's on loan til the end of the season, in which case yes, it's a bit hypocritical.

Actually, what am I saying? Yes. I agree. Wenger's a [****!!****] who likes young boys.
