General Website Stuff

I'm often tinkering with the website .. a couple of the recent changes:

- with automatic promotion also being awarded to the best 3rd placed team (calculated by points per game) across the 6 leagues at our level, we've added these 6 league tables, sorted by ppg, to our tables page.  It doesn't highlight which 3rd team is in poll position - you need to work that out for yourself - but at least it shows the tables all in one place.

- Elliot's 500th appearance made me think it'd be quite nice to have a "milestones" page to highlight player milestones (appearances, goals, clean sheets etc).  So we now have a page that shows previous milestones + a table of total appearances & goals for the current squad.  From that you can see for instance that Jed's next match will be his 100th and in 3 matches time Alex will have made 200 appearances.  It can be found under the main menu, First Team | Player Profiles

- at the AFCH SA AGM I mentioned adding a page "an Urchin abroad" which will have a few pics of holidaying supporters sporting some kind of Urchins apparel.  So, when you're on your hols just email me a pic or 2 and we'll add it to the site.  Once I get the first pic I'll create the page.

Other stuff ...

Let me know of any other info that you think might be good to have on the website.

Steve N mentioned profiling one of the youth teams each month for instance which is a great idea - I'll talk to the relevant parties about trying to set something up.

Thanks,

Andy

Couple of updates ...

The "Links" page has been updated ...

http://www.afchornchurch.com/club-information/links/

Now lists all the teams in our division plus links through to their websites & twitter pages.

Also, clicking on the team name (Profile) takes you to that team's page which shows club info + previous results vs Hx + upcoming fixtures vs Hx

Under the "Media Centre" menu I've added all the menu options to access Facebook, Flickr, Twitter etc

At the bottom of our fixtures page ...

http://www.afchornchurch.com/teams/first-team/fixtures-results/

.. we run a script to show Bostik North fixtures for the current month and next month so you can see who is playing who without leaving our website

Finally, I've started doing a "The week ahead" post (published Sundays) which details first team, U23 and Academy fixtures for the next 7 days + relevant club events.  By giving more info out re the U23s and Academy it might get people going along to their games.

Questions, changes, new features etc let me know.

Andy

It's great.   There are a lot of clubs much higher up the pyramid who'd kill for the quality of our website.  And indeed for our programme (courtesy of Pete).

We are blessed to have two such magnificent organs promoting the club.  phnar phnar but I mean it seriously.

As promised we now have a page - An Urchin Abroad - charting the travels of our loyal band of supporters.  The only requirement is you need to be abroad and sporting something AFC Hornchurch.

Page is here: http://www.afchornchurch.com/community/an-urchin-abroad/

Also accessible from the Community section on the main website menu.

On the same page is an Urchin World Map which shows where we've all been.  Clicking on the marker brings up the piccy.

Thanks to the McEnnerneys for being bullied into submiitting a picture to get this up and running.

This should be fun - make sure you send in the pics .. to enquiries@afchornchurch.com.

Thanks,

Andy

Can we include a new section for holidays in the UK at different places?

May get an opportunity in the Lake District this week.

Absolutely Annie send in the stuff and we'll include it. I could rebrand it 'A travelling Urchin' and then have Home and Away for UK / Abroad for instance.

Thanks,

Andy
