Hopes, dreams or expectations for this season

I agree that circumstances may require a bit of tweaking of the squad and I'm sure the lads will have it covered You name Woking Billericay and Welling and of course they will be tough games but they already have 6 losses and 5 draws between them and some of these losses to teams below us in the table I see no runaway super teams and on our day we can beat all of them Of course it won't always be our day but the belief in the squad is remarkable Well done to the squad and the backroom boys

Agree,Irishadrian.

My only reservation is that you can get a false sense of security at the start of the season,as usually the first ten to fifteen games is what I would say is the settling in period for newly put together squads. There's always teams that goes flying off to the top and yet come to the end of the season have fallen down nearer to the bottom.

I don't see Slough doing this,as we have two very good managers at the helm and very competent squad of players but I don't think we should get too complacent just yet, regardless of the good results we've had.

As you say, though, there's no stand out team yet and it's as much about how we play as a team, than fearing anyone.

Only seven league matches left, and only seven wins would achieve  the dream of making the play-offs this season.

How close do you think we might get?

Woking (A), St Albans (H), Hungerford (A), Welling (H), Oxford (A), Eastbourne (H), Truro (A)

Being pedantic even if we won all our remaining games our chances of reaching the play-offs would still be slim to none.

I think we are going to Woking on the back of a good result and won't make life easy for them.Being a derby match, I expect us to have a good go at them. My heart wants the 3pts but my brain says 1 point is probably the best we will get, if anything.

St Albans I see as beatable.Having seen St Albans this season, I didn't think they were anything to write home about and also now they have a couple of players on their injury list, I think they could be for the taking. They have a couple of threats going forward but if we are on our game we should win.

Hungerford I think will be tighter than you would naturally think, being that they are in the relegation zone but we ought to have enough to see off them.

Welling at home and Oxford away, I see as tricky fixtures, and think we are likely to drop points.

Eastbourne I think we will get the home win.

Truro is a day out down the coast for our team, after a long season and I believe we will lose this game,as there is nothing to play for and the players, management [and fans] should focus more on letting their hair down and enjoying a few beers together, than much else. By and large, it has been a good season for Slough and this game is one game too many but hopefully the sun will be out and be a nice day out for those going.

Really? I thought they were one of the best teams we've played this year! I'd say only them and Torquay gave us a real beating this season.

Last week the St Albans manager was bemoaning  four injuries ( two season ending) and how difficult he was finding replacements close to season end Today he announced two players going straight into the team against Gloucester tomorrow One from Hemel Hempstead and one from Kingstonian. We'll see tomorrow what they're made off.

We must have watched different games,Stuntman Mark. I wasn't impressed by them at all.Mind you it was a game where I wasn't at full concentration, as had a lot of chat with various fans throughout the game. So my game suffered you could say! ha ha!

St Albans have signed Scott Shulton from Hemel and James Kaloczi from Kingstonian this week but lost today against Gloucester City 1-2 . I think the game with Slough will be close but I stick by my guns that Slough will edge it, if our players are on their game.

Have to agree, whilst I thought St Albans attackers looked lively and dangerous, I thought we should have got something from the game.

Our management team take each game as it comes and have strengthened their match management. Perhaps more correctly their players reactions to it!

If Slough Town play like they did on Saturday for the next four league matches, the table might look interesting before our home match against Eastbourne Borough on Easter Monday.

On that day :-

Chelmsford City v Wealdstone
Concord Rangers v St. Alban's City
Dartford v Billericay Town

For me, there are five teams likely to contest the seventh play-off position :-

faltering Billericay Town, Concord Rangers, Slough Town, St.Alban's City and Wealdstone.

The table could look very interesting after the Easter Monday matches.
