I saw "the man who used to drive the red tractor" last night and he told me that Simon has not gone to Purfleet. They made an offer that has been turned down. He also confirmed that Frazier Toms has left the club.

I heard that what is usually referred to as "personal terms" were the issue, Laz.

 

I wonder when t'lads loan period at Cambridge is up?

Just read this on the Cambridge forum...

 

It says in tonights CEN that Gary wants Simon Martin for another loan spell.

 

I hope terms can be agreed and that Simon stays with us and proves his worth to the doubters. I also hope that he doesn't read this website as some of the critisicm might sway his decision.

 

Having said that I think he's a strong character who won't let that bother him.

 

We shall see. I think Gary also wants Simon to score a few goals before he makes any move for him more permanent, making sure that he comes through this barren spell first. That to me is very sensible. I do believe, though, he takes alot of pressure off Danny and takes more of his fair share of knocks.

I'll bet that Gary Roberts does want him for another loan spell. It wont have occured to Robbo that if he takes him on another loan, he wont have to pay the transfer fee.

 

If it's true that Simon 'couldn't agree personal terms, with Thurrock, I imagine t'lad sees himself at Cambridge longer term.

 

Tell Roberts to match the Thurrock bid or send him back. And don't mess with us. Who do these people think they are?
