3spirit
As it's local I should think a fair few will be there. Perhaps Guy Hollis will get his first game of the season?

PaxtonLee
Similar to the pre season games I've seen so far, a slower first half followed by a higher tempo second half. Hopefully a sign of a good level of fitness. Turner, again, very good. Three good saves to keep a clean sheet. Manny's goal the pick of the bunch and some bright moments from him throughout. Two composed finishes from Gavin James. Thought Jackman had a good half, him and Harris linked well.

3spirit
I thought Guy Hollis looked like he hadn't missed a game. Brad Wadkins looked sharp and with every minute is getting better and better. He's going to be an big asset to the team this season. Manny Williams worked his socks off and his creative passing really opens up sides. Unders made me laugh when he suggested to Manny in later stages of the second half that Manny could take both right and left curners, by this time Manny had run himself into the ground and looked knackered and very heavy legged,so I'm not sure he was delighted with that instruction ! ha ha ! Gavin James doesn't always get the plaudits from me but I thought he made the difference when he came on, his pace and willingness to take on the defender in front of him, raised our play to give Slough a comfortable win in the end. Also thought both Nathan's, Webb and Smart put in decent shifts. What's pleasing is how fit Slough as a team are looking. As for Uxbridge, it's a nice ground with a good pitch [bit undulating but not a problem] and their team gave us a good workout. Probably changed too many players for the second half,to keep Slough at bay. Four nil flattered us slightly but all in all a worthwhile friendly for both sides. On to the next one....... David Carpenter
Yes I agree comfortable win in the end. On a domestic note i have to thank the ladies at the tea bar for the home made blackberry and apple pie which was excellent. Was going to try the bread pudding as well but someone (and he knows who he is) had knicked the last two lumps (only joking!). COYR!
Reading Rebel
Good work out and a comfortable win in the end. Hopefully we didn't pick up any injuries although surprised to see George Wells only given the first half as he didn't play in our last friendly. Neil Baker
No the plan was for him to play 45 mins last night, as he will do a 90 on Saturday however he did get a whack to his ribs.... But will be fine.
Curtis
Always difficult to assess pre-season friendlies, but great to see Guy Hollis back, and we are looking strong defensively even with a variety of changes, and when the opposition do get through our back four they come up against Jack Turner who is in fantastic form. In the first half last night the midfield and forward line didn't seem to have much in the way of an understanding though, with many passes and through balls going astray, and numerous positions of good possession in the attacking third breaking down without a shot.... it appeared to be equally frustrating for the players and fans. Was the second half a significant improvement from us or was that an Uxbridge 'reserve' or 'triallist' 11? Personally I thought the side they fielded in the second was significantly weaker, but it was good to see us put away a few goals, Manny and Gav getting on the score sheet, and Flood on penalty duty. Agree, with Uxbridge making 11 changes and not looking as strong as their first half 11 that it was difficult to compare our second half performance compared to the first half. bluerebel
A good workout for the team. It is difficult to see at the moment what our starting 11 is. Too many good performances. I would not like to be in the managers boots. There will be one or two disappointed players come the start of the season

I was talking to a fellow supporter at the Uxbridge game and we were discussing what players should start and who should be left out of the starting 11 against Kettering based on current pre season performances and we ended up making a case for every player to start the game such has been the quality of performances to date. epicrebel
While I was there their groundsman ask was this (first half) our first team? I didn't know what to say yes/no. I just said any of our squad could start, but the only thing I could say was our top scorer from last season wasn't playing.
