Good move putting Hodges on dual reg. Lots of potential but we maybe have better options in the areas where he plays right now.

And I think we'll all forgive Togs the day off and wish him and his missus all the best for the future. Top player!

I'm not surprised Paul Hodges has been dual registered but I thought we might of kept him for this Saturday's game, given that we are so thin on the ground, with all these players missing.

You better bring your boots, Neil and Jon, just in case ! ha ha !

Ha ha who knows Mark

Remember we have said that we plan to try a few players in different positions, and that is even more evident this weekend.

I will leave you guys to try and work out who we will be playing at centre half....

It is not ideal, but in a way it is a good thing as a good number will get 90 minutes without having to make countless changes you often see in pre season, and we have also thought about possibly even playing some of the game if we need to with 10 men to replicate a situation we will no doubt be put in at some stage this season.

With regards to Paul he wanted to make a decision this week as he goes away on holiday also in the next week (as he is a school teacher) so we wanted to give him as much chance as possible to solidify a place in the team at Hartley also.

In terms of keeper we will be using one of Met Police keepers, which we agreed with Jim Cooper about 6 weeks ago when we were aware Jack would miss this game, there is no point bringing a keeper in for one game when we have no intention of signing the player, so this way Met get the opportunity to look at the two keepers they have training with them in a competitive game for 90 minutes each.

We could also ask to borrow Lewis Putman for the left wing ! :)

In all likelihood as we will only have one sub [two if Guy hastens to game after coming back from holiday, yeah right ha ha ! ]

Will we be able to use the sub as a rolling one?

I would start the game with a 4-3-1-2 of

                    GK

Harris  Fraser  Smart  Jackman

      Webb    Dunn    Lench

                   Williams

             Flood      Wadkins

Sub: Gavin James

On the centre half issue I would like to see, sometime, how Josh Jackman would shape up as a centre half.

Also if we were desperate I would take a chance on Brad Wadkins, given his size, physicality and how good he is on the ball but there is no way I would risk playing him there in this pre-season,as he's just getting over a bad injury and playing at centre half is too demanding a position for him currently, as the last thing we need is him to get hurt again.

I know bakes said it was only an idea but persoanlly I can't see the point of playing with 10 men in the event of getting a player sent off in the season. I think getting minutes into players legs at this stage is a bigger priority.

Besides if a player gets sent off the team would have to be adapted according to the position of that player.

Playing with ten men in a pre season match is not that rare of an occurrence.

The ten men will have to work harder and will thus improve their fitness and stamina levels much more compared to playing with eleven.

It is also a hell of a lot better than swapping an entire team at half time, which other than the first game or two of pre season, doesn't help any player improve their stamina.

Personally I've never seen it or heard of it but I suppose it must happen somewhere in pre season.

The bit about making players work harder is the obvious benefit but no benefit positional wise.

Not that I expect too many Met Police supporters at tomorrow's game but there is nothing on their web site about tomorrow's game and on their Twitter and Facebook page it say's it's a 3pm KO.

I don't know about the Express but there is a piece on Mark Nisbet in the Observer and in the text it states it's a 3pm KO    :hairout:
