Club Records

I have seen that on the club web-site there are Club records for player appearances and goals scored, but do we also have any Club records for Managers and the number of competitive matches they have been in charge of or their win percentages?

From a quick rough check Jon & Neil have now been in charge of more than 200 competitive matches (178 league, 4 play-off, 11 FA Trophy, 8 FA Cup). Should League Cup, and Bucks & Berks be included as competitive matches?

Would this place them among our top 10 or 20 Managers?

I think they also have 92 wins from those 201 matches, a percentage of over 45%, would this also place them amongst our top 10 or 20 Managers?

In the new ground the current most popular record is Thin Lizzy with the "Boys are back in town" with a 20 plays out of 20 games for the league and also a 100% success in the 8 cup games at Arbour Park.

As for the managers singing ability, I have no idea of their talents - maybe they could go into the studios and make a record and become non-leagues Robson and Jerome!

Have I misunderstood this thread?

I have tried putting together a list of Managers for the last 25 years.... not easy since I have only been a regularly follower for the last four seasons.

This is where I have got to, I'm sure somebody will be able to correct or fill the gap I have:-

Neil Baker & Jon Underwood 2013-

Steve Bateman 2009-2013

Derek Sweetman 2008-9

Mark Betts 2007-8

Darron Wilkinson 2006-7

Eddie Denton 2003-6

Steve Browne 1999-2003

Graham Roberts 1998-9

Brian McDermott 1996-8

???? 1993-6

Dave Kemp 1992-3

So, looks to me as though Neil Baker and Jon Underwood are about to become our longest serving Manager's in the last 25 years????

If you have time you can figure out a rough win percentages for each manager with the records from this site:

http://www.fchd.info/SLOUGHT.HTM

its a list of previous season results including league and FA competitions. (no league cup or B&B cup results though)

According to my uncle Tommy Lawrence and Laurey Churchill were the best two managers.

Thanks for the feedback, looks like it was Les Briley & Dave Russell missing, so the complete list is probably:-

Neil Baker & Jon Underwood 2013-

Steve Bateman 2009-2013

Derek Sweetman 2008-9

Mark Betts 2007-8

Darron Wilkinson 2006-7

Brian McDermott 1996-8

Dave Russell 1994-6

Les Briley 1993-4

Dave Kemp 1992-3

I've just come across a web-site that lists John Docherty as being our Manager in 1993-4. Does that ring any bells with anyone, or is it incorrect?

It also lists Alan Davies as Manager from 1986-1992, so presumably that's the record Neil & Jon need to beat?

You old boys are now going way back:-

Tommy Lawrence 1970-73

Roy Sleap 1973-76

Joe Arpino 1976-80

Laurie Churchill 1980-82

Terry Rearden 1982-85

Howard Kennedy 1985-86

Still looks like Alan Davies as our longest serving Manager, and Neil and Jon moving in to second place this season.
