Karen. Can you give us any clues about the background and the home ground of AFC Southgate, Berkhamstead Raiders and Park View, or are they existing clubs re-named?

I believe AFC  Southgate will share at Brickfield Lane,currently a large youth set up without a senior side.

They are all new clubs so I have no knowledge of them other than their home venues

Berkhamsted Raiders - Only details I have is the postcode but believe this is a 3G caged pitch - HP4 3AH

Park View - Ground sharing with London Skolars Rugby Club

Another team in Berko. I hear Raiders have over 70 youth teams, so should have plenty of players coming through the ranks.

Finished 7th!!! Why have Thame not gone up? Teams like Totternhoe and Aston Clinton both had very good seasons but due to facilities cant go up but not having a great season and finishing 7th and you go up! I guess there has to be some movement of teams!

Agreed on New Bradwell. They thought they were going to smash the division and didn't even end up the best team in Bradwell.

Thame are no longer members of the SSML the FA moved them to the Hellenic League, had they not been moved they were have been promoted

This isn't the first time it has happened. Both Winslow and Risborough received similar promotions.

 

To be fair to New Bradwell, they were relegated after finishing 9th due to ground grading.

If they were relegated due to ground grading, do we know what has been changed to now make them eligible to play in Div 1?

If I remember correctly the issue related to a boundary fence, but not completely sure. I know last pre season they released plans of what was being done.

They play on a recreational park, great facilities but there was no way of manning attendances etc. Anyone could rock up and watch.

Perhaps extra fencing has now been erected!

If NBSP is a shambles what about Berkhamsted Raiders? Two division promotion on Saturdays after not even getting half way through the Herts. County League development division season!

Your AGM should be fun.  I thought standard Saturday league rule was if you sit out a season or do not complete it you start again 1 or 2 divisions lower.

Winlsow United went down one division from div 1 to 2 because they sat out 2009/10 season as I would expect.

Woodford Town sat out last season but come back at the same level in division 1 in the draft constitution-weird!.

Berkhamsted Raiders take the biscuit. The draft has them to  come up two divisions after their record was expunged in the Herts. County League for not raising teams for half a dozen away league games last season according to HCL official who says they asked to go back in that league higher up but were turned away for next season.

OD -they have not totally disappeared from full time you can still see them in the cups-same story though. Herts. Intermediate cup 12/11/16 tie awarded to Oaklands and development/reserve division cup 29/10/16 tie awarded to Bovingdon Reserves. You would think the SSMFL would know what went on last season and not touch them with a barge pole.
