Break-ins

After Aveley FC were broken into it seems Sandhurst, Bracknell and Ashford Town (middx) have had attempted/successful break-ins as well.

I sincerely hope that once phase two at Arbour Park is complete that the Council have installed some top notch security to keep the scum bags out.

Despite the serious subject matter, this does bring to mind one if my favourite football related jokes;

Police are investigating after a burglar broke into the (insert team name here, dependant on who you hate most!!!) trophy room and stole everything they found there. They are now frantically searching for a man carrying a rug. ???

With Arbour Park being a open to the public for use there are people who work there throughout the day and late in the evening so there should always be a pair of eyes watching.

It depends on the type of person watching !

Harsher sentences for people caught and convicted might make a difference !

Still leaves a lot of hours for the scum to do their work.

Big shiny new building will always attract these types of people like flies to jam.

Back in the good (old ?), days when Dorking FC WAS Dorking FC and I wasa connected with the club, we experienced some break-ins.

The council CCTV in the adjoining park was useless.  We had to wait maybe two days for SOCO to atten, (Scenes of Crime Officer), only to be given a crime number and told to get on with life.

I said thaty I could leave my daughters Rottweiller in the clubhouse overnight.

"Oooh  -  No.  You can't do that.  Health and Safety".

How about prison razor wire round the top of the fence, then ? That'd stop -em !!

"Oooh  -  No.  You can't do that.  Health and Safety".

At that point I gave up.  What really WAS the point.  Let the scum have what they want.

What goes around, comes around !!

Just a couple of points : The Guard Dogs Act prohibits the use of untethered unsupervised dogs. On a personal level I was once attacked and severely mauled by an untethered guard dog whilst going about legitimate business in the middle of the day. Likewise the use of razor wire has long been prohibited due to concerns regarding innocent parties e.g. kids malarking around being severely injured.
