It's a shame we don't get clear messages directly from the club on the subject.

I believe, in the Observer recently, Steve Castle claimed Simon had not played his last game for City. Then we hear, from club officials, that he's definately signed for Purfleet. Not a word from the club though. Nothing on the site. What is going on?

In the other direction we get Frasier Toms, who according to Barnet fans, lacks ability, fitness and enthusiasm.

I'm not sure that "choice" is the right word but let's pass on that.

Division 1 N & S is a better standard of football than we currently see from t'lads as it consists of two Divisions made up of the top 14 teams from the three 'feeder' leagues and we are outside of that number at present.

To join that select band, and remain one tier below 'The Conference' we need to improve our League position by 6/8 points and 6 League placings. Let's get on with it.

Hi Woody.

I don't know anything about football but I have followed the articles in our matchday programme. The chap who writes the 'Ryman League Round Up' double page spread seems well-informed.

According to him, The F.A. have, indeed, ratified the Conference re-structuring proposals which are supported by the Northern [unibond] and Southern [Dr. Martens] Leagues. The result of that re-structuring is outlined on the link above, assuming, of course, that all of the teams finish in their current League position.

The Ryman League collectively do not support the proposal although a number of Premier Division clubs do. The Ryman League have served some sort of legal 'Notice' upon the F.A. calling for 'Arbitration' over the proposals. The form of Notice, the nature of the arbitration and the the grounds for it are somewhat vague as far as the press reports are concerned, according to Our Chap in the matchday programme.

Having taken legal advice, the F.A. have acknowledged the Notice and a date for the 'Arbitration has not yet been set. The proposals are scheduled for the start of next season so it will take place soon, presumably.

In the most recent report of this matter in the Non League Paper, an un-named senior source at the Conference is quoted as saying something to the effect 'If the Ryman League don't want to come in, we will proceed without them'.

Always pleased to assist.
