FA Vase Sponsors Buildbase gives £50k to Step 4 Club

Recommended Posts

They sponsor both the FA Vase and FA Trophy thus one winner from each of the competitions entries as they will also be doing next season

It surely cannot be right that the Vase sponsors handover £50k to Hanwell Town who play in Step 4.

I thought the whole idea of getting sponsors in is to help Step 5-7 clubs.

Its ridiculous in my opinion

Buildbase the Sponsors of the FA Vase & FA Trophy offered the opportunity to all 535 clubs competing in the FA Vase and 276 teams in FA Trophy to win £50k worth of building materials.

To be considered each club had to submit details of their proposal for the development for their club within given criteria. Three clubs were selected from the Vase and three from the Trophy and duly attended at Wembley to make a presentation in a Dragons Den style way. Cleethorpes were chosen as winners from the Vase clubs, Hanwell Town from the Trophy clubs.

The formal presentation is being made today at half time in the Vase Final at Non League Finals day.

Buildbase are also committed to doing the same again next season. Applications for next years competition will be due for submission in Jan/Feb 2018 so Clubs have 7-8 months to put together their bid. This is particularly relevant for Clubs looking to achieve ground grading requirements.

I am sure the good folk at Hanwell will happily show any friends in the Spartan League what they did to assist for next season. As problems go in football, having £50k worth of building materials seems a good problem to have and far from "not being right" or "ridiculous

Went to the Vase Final yesterday. South Shields, wow what a team. Even though they won 4-0, if it wasn't for Cleethorpes keeper, could have been double that.

Mind you looking at their squad, some many had EFL experience and Arca Premiership.

But if you can take 15,000 supporters to Wembley and draw crowds of over a 1,000 for step 5, they must have the funds to pay them.

Be interesting to see how they get on at Step 4. On yesterday's showing, will smash it.

Was also at the game.

Spot on, South Shields were absolutely brilliant, what a team, probably best best step 5 club by a mile. And that support, unbelievable, many pro clubs would love that at Wembley.

You have to remember Cleethorpes are no mugs. Won their league with 108 points and only dropped 18 points all season and promoted to step 4.
