Boring Utd took the lead on 14 minutes when Dave Collis floated the ball towards the far post, where Dean Green was ideally placed to finish the move off with a well-placed shot wide of Callum Chafer. Chafer made two saves to deny Martin Tuohy and Green, but was beaten a second time with another Dean Green shot from close range. As half time approached, Chafer again saved, to deny Green his hat-trick. At the other end, Richard Wray tipped a shot over the bar from Ross Wall, who ran on to an Ozzie Adeniji pass, and Wray was in action shortly afterwards, saving from George Purcell after Wall had crossed from the right. Colin McBride, playing in midfield, withdrew at half time, and his replacement, Taj Hussain, made several powerful runs along the right wing. George Purcell pulled a goal back with a ‘Purcell special’, and Ross Wall levelled he score three minutes later with a fine drive from the edge of the area. Wray saved from Purcell, who then went close with a shot that lifted just over the bar, whilst Chris Barry denied Hussain with an excellent tackle as he homed in on goal. Sam Bantick put Boring Utd back ahead with a shot from just inside the area, but the Entertainers drew level through a George Purcell penalty after Hussain was brought down. Wray then moved sharply to save from Mark Janney, before Elliot Styles, playing in midfield, led a strong challenge late in the game and twice went close with shots, both of which cleared the bar by a narrow margin.
