How many more times will this club hit trouble. Having looked over the past few decades they have had lots of different guises. Dunstable Town, Dunstable FC,Dunstable Old Boys, Dunstable United. Been bust,came back, bust again,came back, docked points for playing ringers etc etc

I think the suggestion being that there wouldn't be space if Dunstable Town came down.

Step 5/6 allocations are being released by the FA today. SO we will know what is happening with the SSML Premier Division.

DTFC PRESS RELEASE:

Following an Annual General Meeting on 31.05.17, the committee members, members and supporters of Dunstable Town Football Club overwhelmingly rejected an offer of investment from a consortium of local businessmen. No agreement could be made as a conditional part of the offer was that the club applied for relegation from the Southern Premier League to The Spartan South Midlands League. This part of the offer was not agreed and therefore the offer was rejected. 
 Following the resignation of chairman John McLoughlin, manager Anthony Fontenelle also decided to leave as he was unsure whether the club would have ‘a players’ budget to be competitive.’ Both Fontenelle and McLoughlin cite the perennial lack of funds as a motivating factor. Both ex- manager and ex-chairman wish the club every success in its venture. 
The Supporters’ Club and remaining club members, however are made of stern stuff and in a packed meeting they voted to retain the club’s present status as a Southern Premier League side. Interim Chairman Alex Alexandrou said ‘ We have made a leap in the dark but we have one thing in common – to keep Dunstable Town in the Southern League, where we belong historically.’

We welcome approaches for the vacant managers position and offers of investment opportunities.

Thought dropping down to the SSML seemed sensible.
