INs and OUTs

Recommended Posts

At his age and experience you'd expert Inns to be a starter and I doubt he'd have left to be a squad player at the same level. So although great to have 4 centre backs it'll be tough to keep them all happy!

The two signings are great, I'm well pleased with both.

Glen, I don't see it,the way you are viewing it ie 4 centre backs. We have Guy Hollis and Mark Nesbitt, both proven quality.

Nathan Smart isn't a fully fledged centre half. He is a full back that happened to do a half decent job in some of the games he played at centre half but let's not get carried away,we need more than just a fill in for those important positions.

Jesse Wilson may not be here next season but if he is, you have to recognise that he is learning his trade and is inexperienced for this level. Seems an ideal scenario for him to learn off of the good defenders we have now at the club.

Alan Inns is a quality centre half. My only concern is how he gets on with 3g. We've now got the option of playing three centre halves and cover for every position in defence.

Fans have said about having another vocal leader type player and now we've got one.

I think after the season Smart had as centre back that's his preferred position now! If Jesse stays he'd no doubt be loaned out a lot as you say he's not ready yet. I gather you've seen Alan play to know he's the vocal type which if true is certainly what we've been lacking. So aside from the goalkeeper, still think a central no nonsense midfielder and striker still to come. As it's been mentioned a couple of players could still be leaving.

He's not a mouth almighty type but in Non League football he's achieved a lot .I would put him in the Dave Woozley category. Exactly the type of player we need.

Nathan Smart I view as back up to Sean Fraser and as cover for the centre backs. To me he is an ideal squad player. However he may not be happy just being this,so may look for pastures new. We'll have to wait and see with this.

Can't see any other players leaving  [unless they think they can get a better deal

elsewhere or are not happy with our managers ].

Fantastic news that a player has turned down a Connie South club to stay with us.

He's only got to wait one more season and this team will be in the Conference South !

Positive thinking........and all that.

Have to disagree about Nathan Smart doing a 'half decent job' at center half. I thought he was bit of a revelation in the games he played there.

I thought he did exceptional in the first few games but began to drop off in latter games and started to make the odd costly ricket.

We all view players differently. One man's worldbeater is another man's waste of space.

I like Nathan Smart and am glad he joined Slough. To me he's a handy squad player but in someone else's team he would easily be a regular in the first eleven and someone's captain.

He's unlucky that Slough have the very good Sean Fraser keeping him out of his natural position at right back, and that he also has stiff competition in the form of the promising talents of Josh Jackman.

.........And now we have three excellent centre backs all wanting a place in the side

So Nathan will need to bide his time,as will others because players will need to be patient as there will probably be around 18-20 players fighting it out to get in the first eleven.

Someone's bound, not to be happy !
