Would certainly add togs and gav james to Glen's list as well as Scotty staying in the background till he's back fully fit. Also agree on manny, if he wants the be here then hope we can keep/get him. (Puts on tin hat) Guys an interesting one as 3 months ago would have been a no brainier to keep but he obviously has some injury concerns along with still some probable ongoing personal bits and pieces - if he's not back it will probably be more his decision than ours. Finally I would also keep josh around as I'm sure there is potential there.

Injury concerns? Guy is a no brainier still. For a quarter of the season we didn't know about his mum and yet he played the whole season knowing he was going to lose her. That's pretty brave to me and I know next season he will still be with us and still at number 4

Must say I didn't expect Stonehouse to be released. The other 3 (Putnam, Bunting & Gokmen) totally expected. Obviously a goalkeeper is a certainty as is someone to take Stoney's place unless Josh Jackman will be given a go as he's highly rated by our managers. I think we'll adding some steel into the midfield with possibly another winger and at least one striker.

 

 

Definitely think we need that midfield 'general' to complement our ball players. For me it's been a missing link when the going has got tough.  They are not easy to find and don't come cheap but if we are serious about going for the title IMO it's what we need.

Totally agree with this.

 

 

 

Also for most of the first half of the season Guy was outstanding and was integral to our 6 match clean sheet run.

Not at all surprised with those players that are leaving. I would add Liam Enver Marum and Lee Barney to that initial list.

What I think is, that just because a player leaves this season, it doesn't have to mean they have to be gone for good.

Take Dobbo as an example. He left for awhile but came back a better player.

So Gurkhan, Putts and Lee Barney for me need to get proper game time under their belt, to see if they can get to a certain level, for Slough to reconsider them.

 

Think LEM has been a disappointment. There's no doubt that he can play at this level but he's so nonchalant and seems reluctant to put much effort in. I can see why the Basingstoke fans on their forum, where so dismissive and got fed up with him,the season before last.

As for Paul Stonehouse he just hasn't looked comfortable all season, whether that's because he's been carrying an injury/not liked playing on 3g or his heart's not been in it, he just doesn't seem to be, the player that was so good when he first came to us on loan last season. 

 

I know of, at least 6 players that we could look to bring in that would make our squad stronger and may be possible to get to the club and not be financially out of reach, so I'm intrigued to see if any of them will be on Bakes and Unders shopping list?  

 

Priority is a goalkeeper, a left back, a centre midfielder and a forward but I would also look for another centre half, so that we could play 3 centre halves when needed and another forward who is an aerial threat,as that is an area that needs improving on.

I'm not saying anything about in's and out's, I don't think it's right. Just a question about Lee Barney.

Why would you want him out, as he's played 8.86 games this season and scored 6 goals I can't see your logic behind this? That's 3/4 of a goal per game.

From Staines Town:

Jack Turner - GK

Max Worsfold - Winger (can play full back)

 

From Egham:

Bajram Pashaj - WInger (attacking midfielder)

Brendan Mathew - Striker (scored 29 goals in the central league)
