urchinman1961
Well we ended the season with a bit of a wimper im afraid in a game of very few chances the early goal rocked us apart from 2 good chances from Martin and Teddy we seem to lack belief and looked a bit disjointed towards the end no complaints about the result and good luck to Thurrock in the final .On a final word i dont think on the evidence of this season we would have been ready for the Prem maybe another season or two and we will be ready been a few high and lows but thats football and i willl be back for more enjoy the break and see you all in 2017/
Burdy
The Maldon game had plenty of goals. At least we have a trip to the sea side at Canvey to look forward to, have a nice summer don't forget the Supporters AGM
cup of tea
Just seemed to be a flat performance tonight. Ref wasn't the best but that wasn't the deciding factor in the game and to honest I don't want to make that an excuse. Playoffs are a lottery and it just didn't come in for us tonight. Good luck to Thurrock in the final.
Miss.A.F.C.Hornchurch
Disappointed. Enough said, roll on next season. Champions!??
Burdy
Agree Annie if we can turn those draws into wins we could do it . Good luck to Thurrock on Sunday
cup of tea
Not sure of my facts here but I think the league sponsor is going to be Evo-Stick next season. Are the leagues going to be slightly re-structured at some point as well? All very confusing.
shrimper
a season that promised much just a few weeks back had a very flat feel to the end of it , just as the squad had become stronger it seemed to fade away, next season going to be of the strongest in the " north " for a long while with canvey ,grays , sudbury , bowers , maybe thurrock , haringey , phoenix just a few who will be trying for at least the play-offs and of course hornchurch will be in the mix somewhere
obis
For sure but the Ryman North is not any stronger than other leagues of the same level. The teams that go up are almost always those who are consistent, have a settled, balanced and organised side where everyone is drilled on. Sadly on many occasions particularly in big games we were found wanting. Perhaps our expectations are too high. Entertaining though and a good bunch of supporters. cup of tea
Think our problem earlier in the season was not converting draws into wins - until Leon got going then we just weren't getting the ball in the back of the net regularly enough, particularly against sides that, with no disrespect to those sides, we should have been beating in order to keep in contention.Losing George for most of the season didn't help with the forward line. We've played better than last night at times during the season but I don't know the situation is with injuries etc. There's been some positives, the likes of Kenzer Lee for example but we need to see what the squad makeup is going to be for next season now (probably not the time to think about that now), and then we go again.
