Steve Browne in NLP

Anyone else read the guff that Browne was spouting in the NLP today. He seemed to be suggesting that the best way forward in the commendable scheme to kick racism out of football would be for the likes of Garth Crooks and John Barnes to take over a non league club and use only black players - surely a retrograde step akin to the BNP taking over a club and announcing a whites only policy. He further went on to give a massive plug to BW and there great plans and tremendous support - less than 130 of whom bothered to turn up yesterday.

I didn't agree with any of what he said either. Having an 'all-black' club would surely do nothing to help counter racism. It would just segregate black players from others. I don't really see his argument anyway, seeing as how clubs from all levels of the pyramid, from all over the country, now have many black players playing for them.

That's right Steve. When you got us relegated and then failed to get us promoted with a Premier League squad and a huge wage bill it was because you're sh*te, not black.

'All Black', or 'All White' clubs. Both are the same and are racist.

 

Why not let the players deal with the race situation ? Racism WITHIN a club is almost unheard of ! At Chelsea, they've only just learnt how to communicate with each other, yet the sense of 'brotherhood' is fantastic.

 

People with 'good intentions' writing about the subject, as above, do little to improve a situation that is unacceptable in this day and age.

Football is a sport and race should not be a issue...what ever or who ever...the person counts..not the colour.....

I would go as far as calling Steve Browne a racist! Which if a whiteman had made similar staements regarding a whites only policy, he would certainly be branded a racist

Too right Rebel Yell (Damn, I keep on agreeing with you, this can't be healthy! <img src="/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" /> ), but of course, as it's the other way round, it's not an issue.

 

Not something which we should be seeing in football at all either way. As they say, football is an international 'language' for all, and is enjoyed by all.
