A draw is enough to stay 5th (possibly even a win if the other 2 also win). You can't say any of the 3 are easier, they're all equally tough. I suppose you could say you'd rather not be away to Merthyr midweek (which I think tactically we may do). All PO's are cup finals and anything can happen, really depends on who's best on the day. I can't see it but let's hope H&Y go for the win as it may assist any possible reprieve that may come up.

I don't really mind who we get. Whoever we get they will be strong and we will have to be on top of our game.

Hitchin are the only team of the three to have beaten us this season so we know how to beat each team.

The most important thing will to hopefully have all our players fit, particularly Warren Harris.

Merthyr will be going all out to beat H&Y to keep 3rd place and a home semi final, besides they only need 1 point to keep us out of 3rd place.

Hitchin, like us, will make quite a few changes and I can see them dropping points at Basingstoke.

Any team in a play-off semi final will be tough but Merthyr away in mid week will undoubtedly be the toughest and the one opponent I'm sure both us and Hitchin will be hoping to avoid.

Winning is a habit worth having. Think you should always go out to win.

I hope we go all out for the win on Saturday and let the chips fall where they may. I'd only entertain giving that Jesse Wilson (?) 90 minutes as we are short at centre half and we probably should protect Nis.

I agree that we need to go for a win. If Merthyr finish 3rd and we hope to win the playoffs then we will probably have to play them at some stage if they were to win their home semifinal (whether against us or Hitchin).  We will only play at home if we get into the final as the highest placed survivor. It's all ifs and buts but I think as per an earlier post we just need to go for it.

Have to agree with Windsor on this one but would prefer a draw on Saturday and finish 5th, would hate to travel to Merthyr mid week and they will beat Hayes on sat as they are already down and out. I also think Hitchin will lose at Basingstoke for the same reason. Whatever happens it has been a great season and we can be proud of ourselves. Well done Jon & Neil COYR

So even if you assume that Merthyr don't lose and finish 3rd, there's still the possibility that Terry Brown and his team will do us and favour and get something off of Hitchin, meaning that a victory over Redditch gets us 4th and a home playoff final if Hitchin beat Leamington. Even that possibility is worth playing for.

More importantly playing to win is the best habit to be in. Totally understand the  need to rest players for injury/recovery but the team who play should go for it.

No if you finish 4th you play away to 3rd

My point was if the ONLY way we can get a home tie at all is to win - either by the unlikely set of results that sees us 3rd or in the final if we finish 4th. Hitchin are a well organised team and could get a result at Leamington...look what we did. My most important point is that winning is a good habit to go for and deliberately playing not to win is a bad one.

Of course the possibility of a home game for the final is an incentive to win tomorrow but I think the prospect of missing the long mid week trip to Merthyr, who are pretty formidable at home, IMO outweighs that possibility.

Of course there is no doubt we will be playing to win tomorrow but with the possibility of up to 7 changes from the Chesham game I really don't think the outcome will have any bearing on Wednesday's semi-final.
