It was a successful morning with 9 teams taking part, you can read the report on our website here: www.sloughtownsupporterstrust.co.uk/news/4586033145/Slough-Town-Open-Report and there are photos on our Facebook page, with Gary's photos to be published soon.

 

We are hoping to make it an annual event, so keep an eye out for the next date in 2018, we may bring it in towards the end of the season (on a Sunday) to see if that improves the response from Slough fans.

Gutted I couldn't make it. Hopefully there will be another!

There will hopefully be another in perhaps March/April next year on a Sunday.

However the next one absolutely has to be better supported if it's going to be a continuing event.

The five Pro teams and one of the four community teams were organised by our contact at the club Mark, with only 2 of the other 3 community teams having Slough fans in.

More than 350 businesses, schools and community groups etc etc were contacted by email and Twitter and only one got involved and that was sponsoring a hole rather than entering a team.

Without the support of Mark and his foot golf friends the event would not have happened.

Instead of creating a new thread, I'll bring this one back for now.

 

On Twitter, we're running a vote on the Trust page for any interested people on the best time to attempt to bring this event back for 2018.  If anyone who hasn't seen it wants to cast a vote, please feel free.  For those who are not on Twitter and have any thoughts on it, please leave them on this thread.
