When I said we have to get over the mental thing of losing on poor pitches I did not mean it like that!

5 home defeats now. That is poor.

Thought we were better today than 2nd half at Kettering but two stupid mistakes cost us. How many times do we fail to come out from half time in proper shape and concede in the first 10 mins!

I think we look unbalanced in 4-4-2 without Harris. Everything comes down the left through Dobbo and we look one dimensional. When Manny was fit the 4-3-3 worked better when we were short one genuine wide man.

Couple of weeks ago felt a bit flat as if season was done and we were just waiting for the play-offs to start.

Genuinely 2 MASSIVE games left now!!

Performances / results in the last couple of weeks has indicated to me, although improvement this season, we as a club are not ready for the league above. I hear constant rallying from the gaffers 'we go again' / 'unacceptable' etc.... but again, our end of season (2nd half season syndrome) kicked in. On a positive, win our next four games, we go up :)

Saying that, now, I am thinking, would another solid season in this league next season do us better than hoping we go up and struggle in league above?

As a club, we have come on leaps and bounds this season (average attendances, safe from relegation by Christmas, new home back in Slough), so all positive.

It is just our usual tendency to take our foot of the pedal from March onwards that worries me.

In the words of the gaffers ..... we go again Monday !!!

I have to disagree with you there Stan. Kettering were at least a half-decent team (albeit with nothing to play for) whereas we were at home to a team who could/should have been relegated this weekend. Even then we failed to put them under any pressure whatsoever (a handful of wasted corners does not constitute pressure IMO). This is the third time in four weeks where I've not once felt that a goal is on the cards. 1-0 down today and it was promptly game over, you could tell by the players body language that they had no belief!

I can't help but feel that we're on the verge of throwing away a seasons worth of otherwise excellent progress and exceeded expectations, all over the course of a few weeks.

I was at gate 3 today selling programmes and getting the Player of the Season forms filled in. Two young supporters came in and each bought a programme. I asked them if they were regular supporters and wanted to fill in the form but they said no because this was actually their first game. Very honest of the boys and I hope that they weren't put off from returning after that performance! COYR!

I'm not as despondent as some seem to be about this result but that doesn't mean I'm happy with how we played !

From my angle, Slough's squad hasn't turned into a bad one, just because we've lost to Kettering and Cirencester.

Currently what I am disillusioned about is that we have become too reliant on certain players  ie Flood, Dunn,Togwell, Dobson, James.  Today we're waiting for one of them to conjure up something special, which never came. Our attacking play is predictable, which isn't boding well, if we make the play offs.

What happened to having a squad with competition for places?

Sometimes they work well but today's sub changes seemed odd to me, given the fact that we were 0-2 down and Chris Flood's head injury, I thought we needed a drastic rethink of the line up, as try as we might our attacking play was ineffective and bereft of ideas.

For the Chesham game, I would bring in a couple of squad players to the first eleven in an effort to freshen things up.

Just hope we can give a better account of ourselves against our rivals on Monday.

A good point you make,CR, about our readiness for the league above. I think our managers can handle whatever happens.

As for the team,we have come on leaps and bounds but are not the real deal yet, so changes will be inevitable whether we stay in this division or whether we go up. We don't need wholesale changes so that's a bonus.

we could have played all day and put on another 5 strikers and still not scored.

We do we keep persisting with Nathan Webb at right mid, it has not and will not work. Unless Gokmen is injured why the hell is he not playing !!!

I'm not picking on one individual because he was certainly not the only one but playing Nathan Webb at right mid was no excuse for such an abject performance.

Buzzing for the fact that we have a home game on Good Friday! Hopefully decent crowd and we can get the 3 points we need!! COYR - crowd of 780 but no 3 points

Big Easter weekend ahead! 43 games done & it's in our hands to get ourselves where we want to be! Time to stand up and be counted! - now out of our hands & counted one shot and that took 70 mins to come.

I thought the aim of our managers at the beginning of the season was to get into the play-offs and that is still in our hands.

Another defeat to a team well below us.No playoffs for us now such a shame as it was easily in our hands to even win the league awhile back. Great crowd as well lets hope they keep turning up.Also cannot blame the pitch this time so is it a mental thing I wonder.

I didn't know you were a defeatist Kirk or is it simply that you can't count?

Chesham lost 2-0 today Their last 10 league games show 7 losses 2 draws and 1 win ( 1-0 to Cinderford) but since the decision to sack Leese was taken they have had 6 consecutive losses Surely we can expect something at Chesham?

Irishadrian, you should know better than to rely on the current form of Chesham as a guide to the outcome of Monday's game.
