Arbour Park latest 6/4/17

Until League attendances warrant it I think having a reserved seating system for season ticket holders would then imply a further charge for non-season ticket holders i.e. a 2 tier charging system. This would need policing and probably would not be worth the effort. For special matches e.g. FA Cup ties with sell out crowds then certainly give season ticket holders a priority booking option with the balance to be taken up after due period. There would of course need to be an allowance for visiting supporters. I am sure the management will have this sorted out anyway.

From my angle, I think Trust members and season ticket holders should have priority in getting tickets into the ground for any games likely to be sell outs, as this encourages fans to join the schemes.

On seating in the stands,I think some seating should be reserved for those unfortunates that have disabled badges, the Slough board of directors, visiting Club officials to a maximum of 6, our sponsors and a few seats for any Council dignitaries.

As for the rest I think to enter the main stand  a fee of £2 or £3 should be charged and done on a first come, first served basis.

So if the Prime Minister turns up,she has to pay like the rest of us ! lol !

As for the other seats in the smaller stand they should be free for anyone. who wants to sit, whoever gets there first.

Personally I don't like the idea of charging extra for a seat but if it is necessary it should only be £1.

I know I complain, and a few others do, when we visit clubs who charge more than the standard £10 entry fee so why a we now trying to charge people more than that?

With the new stand we will have about 500 seats, considering the current stand always has some seats available I would expect there would be plenty of seats for the majority of matches.

I think a lot of people would also be confused as to how you justify asking a fee to sit in the main stand and not the other.

The trouble is, SRJ, the higher the Club climbs, more money will always be needed.

Back in the day, I'm sure at Wexham Park they charged a fee to get in the stand.

I would say the majority of fans want to stand but I may be wrong in this, as traditional practices are changing.

I would say those that want to sit are usually the elderly, and those fans who want a bit more luxury and to be away from the riff-raff [the ordinary fan ]. To me it's no different from 1st class to 2nd class on a train. You pay extra for a supposed better experience.

The obvious benefits of (possibly) charging extra to sit in the main stand as opposed to sports hall side stand is that you have instant access to all the facilities (bar/food/toilets) plus the view especially from the top rows would be better. I see no harm at all in charging £1 extra in this league, maybe even £2 if we got promoted.

At what point though does it effectively become a TAX on those who NEED to sit down, why should they have to pay extra to enjoy the match in comfort.

As traditions changing, where and when? The vast majority of people still stand at games and swap end to be behind the goal their team is attacking. Plus look at the premier league with plenty of teams and fans urging the leagues to adopt safe standing so that fans are allowed to stand up at matches again.

There are Slough fans/season ticket holders who want to/have to sit down and more than likely they will want to sit in the new stand for the obvious reasons.

I can't see a problem with letting them have a reserved seat either by an annual subscription or if the club prefers for free.

Another thing will be once the full car park is open will the club be charging people to park. The st Joes car park cost £10 for the year but that all went to charity.

When new supporters and away fans judge the club one of the things they will judge is price so if they are having to pay "add ons" to their ticket price they probably won't see it favourably (price of a program would count as add on and the cost of a tea, coffee or water would as well, possibly food prices also). If you have to pay for parking + (or) seating your total spend for the day can rise rapidly e particularly if you come in a group.

Of course we are still trying to attract as many new fans as possible and next season with a completed ground will be key in that so overall match day cost for new fans considering becoming a Rebels fan has to be thought about long and hard.

Genuine question - do Maidenhead charge for a seat?

If they don't

There current admission prices are the same as ours so wouldn't look appealing to a new supporter who wants to sit down if they now have to pay more to watch Slough than Maidenhead but at a level below, (Based on leagues we currently play in)

As you say based upon the assumption Maidenhead and us will be charging the same next season.

Well considering they did season tickets for £100 this year and match day at £10 adults, and they have had big attendance they would probably keep the prices the same if they stayed in the conf south.

The piont still stands that as local clubs we are competing to attract new fans. Any new fan will look at 2 things before going to a match; league position and entry price. We might not be able to compete on league position if not in the same league so we MUST be competitive on admission price and make ourselves appealing.

Maybe maybe not as costs will very possibly rise substantially if you want to survive in the top tier of non league.
