Dexter was one of my old business tutors and he always seemed so laid back... guess that was wrong!

I can kind of see the point in a way if we wasn't delivering the money we promised but that looks highly unlikely to be the case!

Only! Depends what is required to get capacity to 3,000? The ground I think can already hold near that figure so it might just be minor H&S issues to overcome. Obviously getting to 4,000 is a much bigger and costly obstacle. It’s not likely the council will pay for it either.

I might be completely wrong but I'd say we could already house 3,000 comfortably without any H&S issues.

This is the guide to safe ground capacities:-

http://www.safetyatsportsgrounds.org.uk/sites/default/files/publications/green-guide.pdf

The annex at the end, around page 200 gives working examples if you are interested, and casting a brief eye over it I can’t see why a 3,000 capacity would not in theory be possible.

But it’s the Council’s ground, so presumably it would be up to them to consider increasing the capacity. I would have thought it would be a major PR disaster for them if we were to be denied a promotion on them not doing so!

When you see some of the grounds that teams get promoted with do you seriously think there would be a problem with ours . The ground is certified at 1950 but could safely hold 3000+ . All we need to do is get the certificate upgraded.

Simples !

Poole & Hungerford both got promoted with inadequate grounds. Both were denied promotion/play off places last season because they hadn't got it sorted. I understand they both have now, but it looks like Poole have had to sacrifice some playing budget for ground improvements given their current league position. Hungerford have done really well to stay where they are given their poor attendances.

Think Stan is correct that an upgraded certification would rectify the problem for us.
