v Kings Lynn

Recommended Posts

A good, professional performance from the lads today. I thought Jon's comments on the interview were a little harsh from the first half. We were a little slow out of the blocks for the first 5 minutes but after that controlled the game and never looked in any doubt for the 3 points. Apart from 1 or 2 very tame shots and a later header, Rowley probably wont get an easier clean sheet all season. That tells you how well the defence played, they were all superb.

Agreed about the home advantage in the play offs, but we can only do what we can and regardless of recent away form, we have beaten Lemington and Hitchin away and have drawn away at Merthyr and Chippenham. Only defeat from the away games of the teams we could play in the play offs was at Banbury early doors and from all accounts we should have wom that won. Just need to hit the play offs in good form and fit as Jon said, then play 2 of the best games we can, easy isnt it LOL

Probably the easiest 3 points all season. Kings Lynn looked like they were already on their holidays, they offered nothing all game. We should have put them to the sword more and could easily have got more than the 3 goals we got.

Leamington lost, Hitchin and Merthyr both drew.

We are equal on points with Hitchin but behind by 3 goals on goal difference. (could have been equal if we pushed more today)

An easier game than expected and could and maybe should have been 4 or 5. Goal difference could be key so it would have been ideal to have scored a few more but can't be too critical after a very comfortable win. Bonus that Hitchin drew as they were 2-0 up so we're now level with 4 games left and they have Chippenham and Banbury to play... As it's been STATED (at the request of King Rebel1965) we sorely need to be at home in the first PO game as it'll be a massive advantage for us.

For a team in transition and plagued by injuries I thought KL did OK today and gave it their all but just not good enough on the day.

It wasn't for the want of not trying to get more goals but missing chance happens to the best of teams.

Comfortable win and plenty of opportunities to score more but the crucial point is that we created the chances and on another day we score 5 or 6.

I thought we looked lively up front and defended well when we had to with my MOTM going to Nathan Smart who turned in another exceptional performance.

A much tougher test next week on another poor pitch against an in form Kettering side.

COYR!!!

Also noticed that with dunns goal yesterday we now have 6 players this season to hit double figures for goals. Proof that it's been a team effort this season and I certainly can't think of another season in recent memory where that has happened.
