...and at least the referee didn't send the wrong player off, as our old friend Andy D'Urso did down at White Hart Lane!

 

Can't agree that Steve Connor (if the name in the programme was the correct one?) didn't lose control on Saturday though, that's exactly what he did. I do agree that at least one Town player probably should have seen red on Saturday for one particular two footed lunge, but he isn't the main threat to other teams whereas Danny Heale is. Not only should Concord have had only ten men for most of the game but he shouldn't have been on the pitch to score the second of his 2 goals and should now be serving a lengthy ban. I wouldn't mind betting that would have ended Concord's title challenge.

actually NONE of their team should have been on the pitch, as that was not a register kit and with a lack of numbers etc; just shows how Mickey Mouse this has all become.

How do we know who was playing,or if all their players were actually registered? or serving a ban?

CR make a mockery of a supposed "senior" league, they should take them selves off to play in the "Essex Business Houses" division 1.

I can't see how having a name on your shirt confirms your identity as a registered player!

 

I do agree though that it's a farce to turn up with a kit clashing with the home team's. Can't they look in their handbook?

 

It annoyed me when reffing in the Enfield Football Alliance when a team turned up late and/or with a clashing kit, so I would hope the refs report mentions the incident and appropriate action is taken. This is not for any vindictive or nasty reason - there may have been mitigating circumstances, of course - but to ensure that clubs take admin and procedures seriously. As you say, ST, this is supposed to be a SENIOR league.

Quite so , LS, Mr Egglinton is a very consistent referee. Absolutley [****!!****] useless !! He also got the Spotted Dog closed on our first visit there.

As for the rest of 'em , I do believe they don't actually cheat, but in the main are just thoroughly incompetent.

However, I reckon there is a grain of truth in our paranoia.

So thats cleared that up then, EH !!

Re discipline - frankly no - our bookings / sending offs record this year is not good at all - 44 bookings and 5 sendings off.

I honestly believe that ETFC's "indiscipline" is more down to the ESL referees inability to handle a decent sized crowd and that they take the view of the underdog.

Take your Bradley Quinn for example......

Not a dirty player at all.......hard and honest yet he falls foul of the ref every week. In my opinion this is because he is the one who carries the "fight" to other teams and gets involved but refs take offence to this.

Every team needs a Quinny,but every ETFC challenge is magnified.

Other teams dont get punished as much.

Saying that....Hope Quinny gets sent off on Saturday and we get three points..!

FYI

 

There is no requirement in the Laws of the Game for shirts to be numbered. The regulations with regard to the numbering of shirts is left to the individual league/competition rules which are sanctioned by the FA or County FA.
