Well that was a waste of time, money and effort!!! Very poor performance against an average Frome side. It felt like an end of season nothing to play for game. Terrible pitch/slope and the wind certainly didn't help. Just had the hallmarks of one of those games where nothing goes right. Very frustrating especially with Hitchin drawing and had we won we'd be a point ahead in 3rd which I'm hoping is still the aim rather than just finish in the play offs.

Again, both home and away we fail to pick up any points or produce anywhere near our best against, as you succinctly put it Glen 'an average Frome side'.

 

Do you or anyone else have any ideas or theories as to why that might be?

OK the pitch might have suited Frome more than us but surely the wind factor was the same for both teams?

The conditions negated any chance of a good game of football. Frome got a goal just before half time playing down the slope but against the wind. We then missed a penalty so end of story. No problems with the locals and the Lilys Cider was excellent. Misssed Chris Flood and Gavin James struggled up front on his own. 5 games to; 3 at home.

David Carpenter has summed up briefly but very accurately I knew it was one of those days when as Dobbo started his penalty run up tbe ball was blown to his right Why he didnt abort is known only to him One of those days when luck favoured Frome and not us

Terrible game but nice pint of proper cider in the club bar and the locals were friendly and happy to chat. Warren Harris had a good header saved in the second half,

although apart from that i cant recall either keeper making telling saves. As Irishadrian said,  not sure  why Dobbo continued his penalty run up with the ball blowing

away from the penalty spot.

We easily beat Cinderford they beat Frome easily then we lost to Frome, enough said.

 

We have gone from an outside chance of wining the league to a slim chance of top five all in the space of a few weeks.

"A slim chance of top 5" you are having a laugh.

 

We are still 4 points ahead of fifth and 7 points ahead of sixth with just five games to go!!!
