urchinman1961
Make no bones about it this was a way below performance against a team on paper who are awful but I must admit I thought were hungrier than us today our potent front 3 didn't fire today even our goal was rather fortunate its the nervous end of the season and a few strange results are expected I'm the forgiving sort so a massive improvement next Saturday against NorwichUtd needed sure Jim will sort it
Wivenhoe Urchin
It really was awful, haven't felt that frustrated for 90 minutes of a game. Terrible that we could only get 1 fortunate goal against the bottom team, who are clearly not "doing a Sunderland". They had a couple of officials cheering them when we had the eastside and it still didn't seem to make much of a difference. That's 2 teams out of 3 from Norfolk who have come away with positive results from our ground and we must make sure it doesn't turn into 3. Wivenhoe Urchin
Despite the result, I thought Martin Tuohy did well today and seems to be fitting into our side well.
cup of tea
Other than Brightlingsea, results went our way so no damage. We will obviously need to improve though, just seemed not to do it in midfield today.
obis
Was disappointing but points are hard to get at the tail end of the season.
shrimper
the midfield had the afternoon off ....have struggled against teams from the bottom to often at home over the last 3 or 4 seasons... never much middle ground with the urchins when they are good there good but when they are bad ....hopefully next Saturday it will be the good
cup of tea
Just need to keep putting the points on the board. We can't be too far away from securing a playoff place, that will be the first priority. We can then start looking at how high we can get - home advantage in the playoffs is something we didn't get last season. If we can catch Brightlingsea then great but they do have a decent gap now. We will have to play better against a Norwich side which is still in the hunt for a playoff position itself.
andydick
We can get a maximum of 94 points so Brightlingsea only need 8 (7 realistically) from their last 6 games to finish above us - and that assumes we win all our 6. Whilst it is squeaky bum time it'd take a monumental collapse on their part for us to catch them. Play-offs are wide open - perm any 4 from 8 (2nd to 9th) - we play 7th, 8th and 9th at home (plus 1st, 10th and 18th away). We're just too inconsistent - we could just as easily finish 2nd as 6th at the moment. Just need to up our game against the better sides.
Burdy
Thurrock could only get a nil nil draw tonight which is good for us
cup of tea
Apart from Brightlingsea there seems to be a lot of inconsistency around. Would have expected Thurrock to beat Heybridge at home. That's their game in hand over us gone.
