This isnt just a must win game Its a must win well game Cinderford have won just 4 points all season away from home We played on Tuesday last and they played on Wednesday They also lost high scoring Karnell Chambers ( well high scoring for them) since last Saturday Things are very tight at the top and GD may decide a few places ours is the poorest of the current 5 contenders and could make the difference between a home or an away play off tie if we dont improve it.

Other key fixtures today:

Chippenham (1st) vs Merthyr (5th)

Leamington (2nd) vs Dunstable

Redditch vs Hitchin (4th)

Chesham (7th) vs Banbury (6th)

Frome (8th) vs Kettering (9th)

At least a few of the teams below us will drop points today, so lets capitalise and make sure we get all 3 points ourselves.

Yes? Ok great! Sounds like it could have been a higher score and a vital win with 3 of the 4 in top 5 all winning. Personally see it as aiming for third as Leamington have hit form at the right time and Chippenham just won't lose! I see Rowley saved a penalty, which is always a confidence booster in your first game! Did LEM make any impact in his brief appearance? Merthyr and Banbury are level on points now.

Could have had many more goals and were it not for us switching off for 10 mins when 3-0 up and conceding 2 pens Cinderford were never in it.

Good movement of the ball on the ground and excellent probing runs from those up front, mid-field breaking up runs and spraying the balls about, defense when needed did their job.

Shaun did not have much to do and showed his class be saving the second pen.

Liam was not on long enough to show what he can do.

Cannot understand (other than he is on contact) why Putman was bought on - ball straight into the wall and then two shots wide when there were others available in better positions- far too greedy and not a team player.

Three valuable points pushing us in the right direction.

Agree about Putman. Without Dobbo we seem to try to play a different game and it just doesn't work. Oh well v.happy with 4-1, but could've been nearer 10.

Gonna stick up for Putmen because it seems players that every one loves can also be greedy and not a team player but he doesn't get any stick. Funny how we can turn on players so easily maybe get behind them. Putts has been out for a while give him a break!

I agree Hammer Rebel.

We've got a lot to thank Lewis Putman for, in that he has been one of our better players since he arrived at the club.

Dobbo has proved his mettle this season and Lewis has been hampered by his injury, Dobbo's form and infrequent appearances but as a substitute I would have thought he is an ideal player to come on, when you're trying to put the opposition under the cosh.

It's a sixteen man game not just about the first eleven.

We played some really good football today and were it not for the Cinderford keeper pulling off some excellent saves we could have gone in at half time with a 4 or 5 goal lead.

Again we were much the better team in the second half until we had to make an enforced change with Sean Fraser going off injured which seemed to unsettle us and but for an excellent penalty save from Shaun Rowley it could have been a nervy finish.

Have to disagree with the people who are knocking Lewis Putman, he's just coming back from injury and hasn't played much football so I think he deserves our support and should be cut some slack.

Overall an excellent display ahead of the game against our nemesis Frome.

Its fairly obvious too all the Lewis has struggled this year, im sure primarily down to the injuries and lack of playing time due to Dobbo's amazing form. He certainly seems to have lost that turn of pace and ability to really beat a player that he had last year. The other concern for me was it seemed most of his touches yesterday were straight away looking to go back towards his own goal as opposed to the Lewis of last year that would have skinned the #11 for Cinderford every time he got the ball. I for one am not that worried about the shots / "being greedy" as you dont win a raffle if you dont buy a ticket and if botht he shots had gone in as opposed to just wide we'd be lording over an excellent substitute performance. Maybe Lewis has run his race with Slough, maybe he hasnt, but i hope that for the rest of the season he can work on regaining that confidence to run at players and attack down the wing as him as an impact sub in a game could be very useful indeed.

Very true Kirk. We really should have not made any mistakes, won all 40 games and be sat here now on 120 points with the league title sewn up. Extremely disappointing. After all we came 17th last season so winning the league really should have been this season's expectation.
