Chesham United Fc

C'est la vie

Yes, it was touch and go whether he would be in charge this season so given they've has a relatively mediocre season by their standards it has come as no surprise.

No a doubt a budget cut is in the offing and players will be looking around.

I'd say Ryan Blake would be an asset to our squad, with his pace he's always a handful and scores goals.

Dave Pearce always plays well against us and Brad Wadkins is the old fashioned type of forward that 3spirit seems to favour.

Certainly won't be shedding a tear for Andy! Didn't realise he had been in charge for so long, maybe now we'll have a chance when we play them soon! I'm sure our managers will know what Chesham players may enhance our squad, although some may be on contract?

I wouldn't mind all three,RR !  Perhaps for next season in the Conference South squad !

Or if we are still going for the title in the Southern Premier. They would certainly add competition for places.

I can see Hayes and Yeading FC going for Andy Leese. I think he won't be short of offers. He's proven he is a good non-league manager.

I wonder if he would want to drop down to the central league with H+Y? I would have thought he would have better offers than that, always assume that the guys there at the moment dont stick around.

After losing 6-0 to Biggleswade today. The management team at H+Y look like they are on a sticky wicket.

If you were the chairman of H+Y FC, SloughFlyer, wouldn't you be tempted to try and get Andy Leese in quick.

He may not keep them up this season but then again he might but least you know you've got a good experienced manager for next season.

Would he want to go there though? The club has been in free fall for the last 5 seasons and look very likely to be playing step 4 next season and would need a serious budget to get the players in to get promotion. With such small crowds and I wouldn't expect a massive rise whenever they finally play at their new ground not sure they have the finances or ambition to match Andy's?

Oh 100% id try and get him, from H+Y point of view it would be a great move. I would imagine from Leese's side is where the problem would come from. H+Y are extremely poor this season and having looked at their fixtures we had them down for 7 more points at most, if thats the case, staying up is almost done. So, id ask, if you were Leese and had a few options on the table (all hypothetical of course) would you pick a side staying at our level or above v H+Y who will be plying their trade in the central league next year.

I think Andy Leese will take the rest of the season off and look for another club in the close season.

If H &Y stay up and with their new ground to give them a boost he will obviously be a contender for the job but with a few other options on the table to consider.

I'm not so sure. Getting a job in non-league football in the better divisions don't come easy. You can soon be forgotten.

Considering Andy was sacked, I would think he would be raring to go to a local side in the same division as Chesham. I think Hayes and Yeading would be a great opportunity.

Looking at the relegation places H+Y have 7 games to go [with one game in hand on two just above them] so in theory 21 points to play for. Fifth from bottom Kings Langley, who aren't having an easy time of it are only 5 points in front of Hayes and Hayes also have a game in hand on them.

Terry Brown took on the same challenge for Basingstoke and I would imagine Andy Leese is the same type of manager to see it as a worthwhile gamble.

Terry Brown took a job at a professional side, not a side about to potentially getting relegated.

Looks a lot better if your last job was with a team who just missed the play offs and got to the first round of the FA cup two years in a row, rather than a team who (at best) avoided relegation.

11 years at one place, take a rest and he will get offers in the summer.
