Hartley Wintney FC
Morning! It has been a fantastic season to date; made all the more impressive by (as it stands) repeating the success of last season. A lot of credit must go to the boys for firstly sticking together but also in refusing complacency, managing expectancy and dealing with being favourites from the off. There are some 'difficult places to go' but the boys have been as close to professional as we could possibly ask. They really are a good bunch. That goes for players that made last year happen too that are no longer with us, whilst we were disappointed not to gain promotion, were it not for last year's campaign this one would not have happened either. Most importantly, and it's nice to get a public platform such as this to thank everyone connected with the club that has supported the ground improvements, whether that is financially, sourcing sponsorship, helping with materials or just blood, sweat and tears: your efforts are overwhelmingly appreciated. It's not won yet, which we realise is the boring response, but we have our own in house targets that we want to achieve before we celebrate - that said the champagne is on ice and the first sip (should it come) will be thoroughly deserved. There are some tremendous people within our club; most of whom would be embarrassed should I namecheck them, although I am sure many of you will know exactly who they are. It's our 120th year as a football club and it's been a special one so far. Receiving the planning permission to finish the remainder of the works was the icing on the cake this weekend - it's now all hands on deck to get the work finished. Anyone's help with that is always greatly appreciated and will be welcomed by all at the club. It's a happy place to be and long may it continue!
