Just shows this league can produce some crazy results, although following it on Twitter it was nearly all Hitchin! Good for us meaning we can potentially go second if we win our game in hand although Leamington can also if they do the same. Surely Chippenham are due a wobble even a little one before the season ends??!!

Come on Chesham you've played 3 times very recently against top 5 teams and lost every one, try and win this one as you know if we were playing them they would!!!

Is this one of the games that Leamington`s Floodlights "failed" when Chesham were winning! if this is the case then Chesham should be well up for it! However this doesn`t always happen! just look at our replayed game with Banbury after water bottle gate!

Hitchin result great for us  and in terms of points lost all season now just 4 points separate 4 of the top 5 teams Chippenham 32 Leamington 33 Slough 35 Hitchin 36 Merthyr tailing off at 42. Im sure Chippenham will wobbleTheir remaining away program especially is difficult imo. I have said since late September that I believe we can be champions and nothing currently persuades me that it still isnt possible if the team get the mindset right and fear no team on the run in. Lets go route 1.

I must confess that after Saturday's tremendous performance against Dorchester things were perhaps tempered a bit by the apparent poor quality of the opposition. Then they go and win at Hitchin!!. Perhaps SPL stands for Surprising Puzzling League! COYR!!

What were the odds on that result! After seeing them Saturday I thought it would be just a case of how many against Hitchen. Probably more surprising than us losing at Cinderford. Just shows it really is a 'funny old game ' . Chiippenham must feel like a horse in the Grand National , one minute they are surrounded then after a couple of fallers at recent fences they are out on their own with just 10 left to jump.

Still gotta clear them though!

I think the next couple of weeks could prove crucial.

 

If we can get max points against Basingstoke and Biggleswade, the game against Hitchin could be decisive.

 

It's a bit unfortunate that Hitchin are at home on the Monday whilst we play away at Biggleswade on the Wednesday.

As you can see superiority in a game does not necessarily mean a win, similar thing happened to us on Tuesday at Cinderford, all about trying to get in front in these tough games, as once you go behind sometimes hard to claw your way back, and what it also proves is there is NO easy game in this league, and that plenty of points will be dropped between now and the end of the season.

In this league you have teams with some superior quality than others (and we are one of them) but any team can have a good day, and often do, so one of the things we ask for is hard work first and foremost as often if you match your opponent for that, hopefully your quality may come out on top, but this does not always happen, and a goal against the run of play missed chances can dictate a result.
