Dorchester 25th Feb

A game we need to win to keep up with and put pressure on the top 4.

Last year the pitch was absolutely terrible so hopefully it will be a bit better and we can actually play football on it. At the moment no rain is expected until during the match (according to the met office website).

With Gav James and Manny Williams both possibly missing or not being risked I would expect Harris and Dobson to start as attacking wingers. A 4-3-3 with Webb and Togwell as more defensive midfielders and Dunn more attacking would seem most obvious, also allowing Webb to be in a more natural position and hopefully more comfortable to re-find his form from the first half of the season.

Whatever we do go with though we will probably play as we have done all season looking to score goals and play for the full 3 points.

Other fixtures:

Basingstoke vs Chippenham

Cambridge vs Leamington

Hitchin vs Kings Lynn

Merthyr vs Frome

Kettering vs Chesham

At least some of those either above or below us will lose points so it would be great if we picked up 3 points this weekend.

Dorchester do have a real problem in the centre of their defence Talisman Chris Dillon  who had been trying to nurse a persistent injury was told to stop playing immediately  and have an essential operation so he is out for the duration  They then brought back a former centre back Gary Bowles who broke an ankle in his first game last week so is also out for the duration  I wish them both a speedy recovery  but imo this certainly doesnt harm our prospects on Saturday.

Fished 4-0 dobson got the third and rose the fourth. Dorchester were awful!

Dobson looked back to his best today and was unlucky not to get a hat trick. Defence were solid other than two or three times in the first half we tried to score for them. Togwell and Dunn we all over midfield and Manny lead the pressing from the front.

Leamington drew and Merthyr lost so we will climb up the table

Clinical, composed performance with every player an 8/10 minimum. After a wild shank at goal early on which went so far the wrong way it nearly put Dorchester in, Dobbo had his best game for a while with his first goal being particularly superb. Also a great goal from manny with a header which looped into the top corner and a debut tap in for rose. Can't really find fault with any part of the performance, never really looked troubled and with leamington and Merthyr dropping points it further cements our (at worst) play off ambitions. Well done to the whole playing and management team.

Solid game where there was only one outcome.

It was another boys against men game where the structure of the Slough team shone through and a hard working team effort made sure of the three points.

Dorchester were poor and even though their big mouthed captain number 5 Nathan Walker thought he was the dogs hairy ones, there is a reason he is at this level playing with a bunch of boys.

Up to 3rd - cant ask for more.

3 pts is what matters but that's another thoroughly professional performance. Need to keep that level up every game now till the end of the season. Like Cinderford game may not always get the rub of the green but will keep us in the hunt.

important to get back on track after Cinderford and we did with a thoroughly deserved win. even before the early Williams goal we may have been a goal or 2 up. 1st half we were only under any pressure when we had a few moments of miscommunication but throughout the game I am not sure Scott really had a save to make

once it went 2-0 with some audacious work from Dobson and finish from an improbable angle it felt like Dorchester faced an impossible task to get back in it. sort of shot that if keeper makes the save a lot of team mates would be asking why did he shoot and not cross but as mentioned great to see Dobbo looking near his confident best

we had a bit of sloppy spell 2nd half where we struggled a bit to keep the ball but again Dorchester didn't really look that dangerous. 3-0 wrapped the game up good Dobbo finish after intercepting Dunn's run

Rose was unlucky after a decent save his follow up header hit the bar and then Flood who strangely didn't really get many chances in front of goal played a great cross for Rose to walk the ball in for the 4th

solid defensively and effective in attack got us a win where we outclassed Dorchester pretty much throughout. Keep this going we are in with a shot of going up for sure

Well done Stoney on your 50th appearance.

He does not get as much of the plaudits as other players but well done to Scotty on keeping his 15th clean sheet a few more will be fab.

It was good to see the Bournemouth Rebels at the game hope you can make coming to see Arbour Park before this season is finished.
