Playoff dates

Having said that, if Hitchin were to be at home in a semi-final, I'm not sure if they would play it on the Monday evening as that is their chosen day for midweek games, or whether the league requires it to be Tuesday. Worth checking.

Positions 2-5 are wide open yes but leaders Chippenham are 8 points clear!!!

They would only be 3 points clear of us and 2 points clear of Leamington and Hitchin if we all got the same average points per game as we have done to date. Still all to play for!

That said the play-offs one division down were such fun that, if you could guarantee a successful outcome,I might almost prefer to go up that way.

Your average points per game may hold substance but anyone would want the points in the bag rather than games in hand. Which is why I'd say Chippenham are certainly in the driving seat and it's up to them to falter and others to take advantage.

A case could be made for Hitchin as the still have all 4 of the other top 5 teams still to play which could mean they have the potential to gain 3 points on everybody. Particularly when 3 of those 4 matches are at home.

Of course, but it's much closer than 8 points (or 9 points to us.)

Another way to look at is this: Since kick off back in August Leamington and Hitchin have lost 31 points Chippenham and Slough have lost 32 Merthyr 37 So 1 point is the difference between 4 of the top 5 IMO there isnt a favourite Its still all to play for!

Personally I think Chippenham remain slight favourites. That said I think average points per game is pretty much the best guide there is which makes it close - it would be unrealistic to dial in our February form, which would have us equal on points at the top as Glen's point that points in the bag are better than any guesstimate of future form. There is a gap - it's just not 8 or 9 points.

Anyway we could be 2nd after tonight if Merthyr and Hitchin draw and we win....could still be 5th too.
