Catdog Rovers
Went to see yet another Hertford/Hoddesdon "grudge match". And finally saw one that lived up to all the preseason blood feud hype. Some rather naughty challenges being thrown about early on. A lot of afters. A lot of words exchanged. A red. A good few yellows. And even some post match handbags in the bar. On the pitch, Hoddesdon were fairly beaten. They seemed intent on targeting one of the few players who didn't follow them from Hertford, and completely lost their heads over it. Their centre back being sent off for raising hands shortly after telling a player "I'm gonna kill you". Hertford did a pretty professional job without ever looking brilliant. Made the extra man count by keeping the ball moving quickly and created two well worked goals. But all murderous rampaging aside, it was a game of few chances. Catdog Rovers
And now looking at other results, Broxbourne look nailed on for relegation. Though the second spot could be reserved for any one of nine teams. I can feel some very tense last day drama coming...

Tigers/Leighton could be a straight fight to the death. Even Hadley/Oxhey and Stotfold/Edgware. 6 of the 9 currently in the mix will be playing each other. And at the other end, Berko/Hertford and Cockfosters/London Colney... Did you have a crystal ball this season Karen?

nick.ince
The Hoddesdon vs. Hertford game was shaping up to be a good game, but as per usual, a sending off killed it off for me. Not questioning the decision. Brett O'Connor and Tyler Hatherley looked dangerous every time they had the ball. I was really surprised that Hoddesdon didn't target the young lad in CM for Hertford. Already on a booking before half time and put in a further couple of tackles that, if slightly mis-timed, could have resulted in a second yellow. They kind of left him alone second half. Saying that, I spent most of the second half debating (talking bollocks) with Jonno about the success (or lack of it) of the 'development' league. nick.ince
Broxbourne do look pretty doomed. I still live in hope, but games are running out and the points gap looks too big to claw back. It was a big game last night, which they probably couldn't afford to lose.

Uncle T
We played 4 Under 18's against Holmer Green yesterday, Under 18's to 1st team is best. Stretch's them, do not need anything in between.
Catdog Rovers
I didn't know you were present Catdog. You should have made yourself known and I could have bought you a beer Apologies Jonno. I don't really know if I'd recognise you. The pictures on here are rather small. I'm planning to be at the Hoddesdon/Tring game next week though. So I'll wear a high-vis, feather boa and extravagant hat so you can pick me out. What were your opinions on the game last night? It seemed very finely balanced until the red. Then Hertford really made the most of the extra space for their widemen. Overall, I think that Hoddy side are just a G.Draper style organiser away from being real challengers. And Hertford are just a pair of Roses away from walking it. Aside from that they're pretty evenly matched sides.
Jonno
Can't disagree with any of the above. The red card killed the game as a contest but the ref was spot on, left him no choice. Brainless. Shame cos up to that point it was a good battle. Unfortunately, there's a bit of history between the players and the clubs and sometimes it clouds their judgement and spoils what should be a decent game. Anyway, two decent sides but Hertford rightly in the top two this season. Will settle for winning the Prem Cup and a top 5 finish. If you're at Hoddy next week, say hi. Can't miss me. Fat bloke drinking coffee.
nick.ince
A combined Hoddesdon / Hertford 11 would look very formidable. Would be a few tough decisions to make...
nick.ince
Leighton vs. St Mags sounds like a tight game. No Ryan Wade for St Mags. Just seen that he has 19 goals from 32 starts this year! Incredible when they are towards the bottom end of the league and he has been played in various positions (currently cm I believe). Great return.
