I like a player that seems to be one of us straight away and that is Manny.

Just wish we could go back to the days when after a player scored they hugged the fans instead of themselves, trouble was they always headed for Radders !!!!

Unfortunately the FA decided that players are not allowed to show any passion and would get booked for celebrating with the fans.

It is true that a player gets a yellow card if they go up to the fans and celebrate during the game.

It happened a few years ago when Sean Sonner celebrated with us after scoring against St Neots. Most players now know what would happen so don't do it. I am sure that if they didn't get a yellow for it some players would still celebrate with the fans.

It's not so frowned on in the lower League's but It's down to the Officials.

Seen him play for SYCOB a few times this season and last. Always a threat at that level and looked composed and older than 19 ! Usually best player for SYCOB last year, after young Togwell!

LAW 12 FOULS AND MISCONDUCT

CELEBRATION OF A GOAL

Players can celebrate when a goal is scored, but the celebration must not be excessive; choreographed celebrations are not encouraged and must not cause excessive time-wasting.

Leaving the field of play to celebrate a goal is not a cautionable offence but players should return as soon as possible.

A player must be cautioned for:

  • climbing onto a perimeter fence
  • gesturing in a provocative, derisory or inflammatory way
  • covering the head or face with a mask or other similar item
  • removing the shirt or covering the head with the shirt
