Just read on the Chesham forum that their chairman will be cutting their budget, if Chesham don't improve in the next couple of games.

 

I was measuring this season, on how far we have come as a side here at Slough, against that of Chesham. To see we have a healthy lead over them in points is brilliant.

 

While it would be magic to get promoted, if it wasn't to happen, I think we have made great strides from where we finished last season and it would be no bad thing if we had a period of being one of regular top placed teams in this division.

What we mustn't be a one season wonder.

I am afraid not:

 

Player we went for is still weighing up his options, as he is on trial with a league 2 side at the moment, and is concentrating on that, it is not a no, but not a yes either at the moment!!!

 

We got another forward in last night training who has been with another club in our league, and we got him signed on forms last night, however the club he was with cancelled his registration this morning, instead of doing a transfer, and this now means he is not eligible for 7 days, really unhappy about it, but nothing we can do about it...

 

We will keep working on something, and you never know we might be able to bring someone in.

Shame about the youngster but obviously fully understandable, being selfish let's hope his trial isn't quite successful! I take it you can't name this striker that has signed until he's registered? Is he a short or long term prospect?

 

 

As for this 'promising young player' I say good luck to him and hope he's successful with his trial, BTW Glen I don't think it takes a lot of working out to know who the player is.

 

As for the other new forward who trained with us last night, if he's signed forms I can't see why he can't be announced.

Wonder if it was a genuine mistake by his club or were they just being difficult as they were losing him?

 

RR I honestly didn't know who the young striker is!

 

 

Probably an honest mistake unless they are a club that, like us, are chasing the play-offs?

 

Glen, I wasn't inferring that you knew who the young striker was.

Romone left Gosport along with his mate Richie Whittingham who was driving him to Gosport, as he does not drive, however at this stage it is very much us looking at him and for him to impress us, to see if he can have a positive impact for us.

Ashan was unable to train properly due to the fact he was struggling to get to Slough from Swindon with only one car in their household, and that was not going to suffice for us, as in reality he had not played this season and needed the sessions to get him fit.

As we communicated a few weeks back, he will remain registered with us, and we could call on him in an emergency.

We are still hopeful on the one option we have been chasing, and are also considering another option, however no panic as we still have Manny and Floody, and hopeful that Gav may be back by the Hitchin game anyway.

Manny more than proved he is capable of playing up front on Saturday.

 

Manny reminds me of that other youthful player we had a few seasons ago, Ben Abbey.

 

Manny has certainly made an impact since his arrival, long may it continue.
