vs Merthyr

From what I have seen of Merthyr this season they are a good footballing side who like play.

I assume we will go back to the formation we played against Weymouth and try and beat them at their ( and our) own game by playing football !

It both teams come with that attitude should be a great game. We need to show that workrate and commitment we showed against Weymouth from the first whistle and then the flowing football and the chances will come from that.

The photo of Slough High Street in the 1930's looks busier than the current one ! ha ha !

a very good match of football with two quite evenly matched teams. Flood with the goal to get us ahead but the last 5 plus injury were quite tense but we held on well.

Plenty of good performances today with a few stand out performances. I though Smart at CB was excellent and looked like he has been playing there all his life. Scotty in goal came and claimed almost every ball, particularly in the second half and made some good saves when called upon. Gav James was tireless upfront closing down there defence and pressing them into trouble.

Excellent result against a top side. Think they will still be there at the death.

How good was Nathan Smart today , Flood was excellent but Smart made a series of great interventions and his decision making was faultless. Not bad for-someone who was a bit part cover player a few months ago.

Superb performance from all the boys against a very good Merthyr side.

I thought we had the better of the first half, just missing a goal to put the cap on a good first half performance.

Second half I thought Merthyr started the better side but over the 45 minutes I thought it was fairly even half with Floody getting the all important goal.

Severall candidates for MOTM but for me Nathan Smart didn't put a foot wrong, putting in some timely interventions with a top draw performance.

Game of few chances but luckily we took one of ours to grab a vital win against a hard working Merthyr Town. I just hope we can continue our winning run in our next two which on paper should be winnable but fully realise there are other considerations to take into account so they will be tough in their own way.

Nis and Smart superb at the heart of the defence, great all round team performance.

Hope Manny's injury is not bad and hope he will be staying with us longer than a month a real tenacious and experienced player.

Great performance, was close but thought we were in control from the start.

Was surprised to see double sub before half time, but that shows they knew they had to alter their tactics to compete.

Thought the two centre backs were immense and Scotty as he snuffed out all threats after we scored. Any of them for motm.

Let's keep up the pressure on the teams above us.
