staines_rebel_Jr
Neither team comes into this match with great form, with both teams getting just 13 points from their last 10 matches. We won the away match earlier in the season and were fairly comfortable but not dominant. Neil and Jon pre match update will go up on the main website soon. But a fairly recent update from Dunstable is that they have signed Brad Hewitt who will probably play tomorrow. February looks like a good month to pick up points before the final run in so lets hope for 3 points tomorrow and another 3 on Tuesday home to Weymouth. Irishadrian
Brad Hewitt was their MOM in their 1-0 victory over Redditch.
Irishadrian
Apart from Cinderford Slough and Dunstable have the lowest number of drawn games in the league (3 and 4) so I guess a win is most likely Dunstable have struggled all season to score goals 30 games just 33 goals so I believe we are more likely to emerge as winners Similar goals against records but we have scored substantially more. maidenheadrebel
Pleasing to see we started the second half at a much faster pace, unlike playing at their pace of play in the first half and that certainly made a difference in my view. Felt their goalkeeper was taking far to long to get the ball in play but then we did little to pressure him into doing anything quickly. He did however move quickly when he had to make two or three very good saves keeping them in the game. There was also so dives out there from Dunstable team that Tom Daley would have been proud of! 3 points.
staines_rebel_Jr
The first half was pretty much a non event with both team cancelling each other out. Second half we played with a bit more width which gave us more space and were the better team. The goal came eventually but only after much resistance from Dunstable who threw themselves in front of the shots. After the goal we were fairly comfortable but did play a bit dangerously in our own half at times. Gavin James and Chris Flood were excellent up top keeping the ball well and bringing our midfielders forward into dangerous areas. James and Flood deserved something from the game but in the end Dunn will be remembered for the goal. It was my first time seeing Manny Williams and I was very impressed. He keeps the ball well and is always looking to go forward, he also does brilliantly closing down the opponents and wins the ball back. Williams was my MotM today. If I didn't know he was 35 I would never have guessed, his work rate and desire was fantastic. We have had this referee recently and he was very good previously but today he struggled despite eventually getting the decisions right. Dunstable number 9 deserved his red for swinging an elbow at Smarts head, and Smart deserved his second yellow for initially squaring up head to head with the number 9. GlenSTFC
Yeah not a great game but it's all about the points and a bonus to keep a clean sheet after Tuesday. I too was impressed with Manny and you can see why he's scored a few in his career, he's also got some pace for an old boy! Tuesday v Weymouth will be a much tougher test especially as they won 6-1 away today so we'all need to play much better to get a win I feel. Sir Rebel1965
A needed 3 points to keep us on track of being in the mix at the end of the season.
Reading Rebel
Scrappy, even first half with Manny Williams having our best chance bringing out a very good save from their keeper. Second half was much better from us and in the end we got a thoroughly deserved three points. Looking forward to the game on Tuesday against a free scoring in form Weymouth, should be a cracker! COYR!!

3spirit
That game will not live long in the memory but the 3 points is pivotal in getting our challenge for the top places back on track. We were not at our best today but still appeared to be the better team on the field of play and because of upping our intensity in the second half,we made the difference by getting the goal that separated the sides. I liked the fact that our midfielders and Floody worked particularly well in creating space and pushing the ball forward at every opportunity,as the game wore on, by trying to make something happen in the final third, when the game could easily have petered out into a draw. Simon Dunn's positive running into the box deserved his well taken goal. To me there was no obvious Slough Town man of the match, as all the midfielders could claim the honour. I also thought Sean Fraser put in a notable performance and seemed to be making up for his out of sorts blip at Kings Lynn. Don't like to moan about the referees and linesmen but todays officiating was awful and mistake ridden but at least, it didn't affect our three points ! . David Carpenter
Interesting photo in Horsham Rebel's portfolio - the one where the referee is consulting his assistant on the East stand side. The guy with the clipboard is the Match Observer who seems to have a rather quizzical look on his face.
Stuntman Mark
Certainly not a classic but a deserved 3 points. Their keeper is very good and he pulled off a couple of brilliant saves to keep them in it. Manny Williams impressed me again. Can anyone clear up what happened with the sendings off? I completely missed the incident and have heard several versions!

I completely missed the incident and have heard several versions! From what I saw Smart was not pleased with yet another late tackle, confronted their striker who then threw an elbow at Smart. Whether that's enough for a 2nd yellow for Smart I don't know but the far side assistant apparently said should have been yellow for both proving he didn't see the incident clearly as it was a nailed on red for their player Had ref actually got a grip and clamped down on several late tackles none of it would have likely happened. staines_rebel_Jr
Smart was annoyed after yet another late tackle which the ref had let go and deliberately squared up to the Dunstable 9 right up to his face, probably said a few words. The number 9 swung an elbow, not making much contact I don't think, but it was clear he was trying to hit him in the head. Yellow for Smart for deliberately confronting the player off the ball and getting right in his face and red for the Dunstable 9 for a deliberate elbow to the face. The confusion was also that the ref gave Smart his second yellow but didn't realise it at the time so had to check a few times and check with the lino as well before belatedly showing Smart the ref card. It did look at one point that Nisbet was trying to convince the referee that he was the player on the first yellow not Smart but the ref didn't buy it. Don Juan DeMarcus
Apparently the ref asked the Lino if he had already booked smart and the link said "no" I'm wondering if the ref would have not booked smart if he'd worked out he was already on a yellow...
