BigDogCol
I think Karen shared a spreadsheet a while back showing which teams had applied & had grading approved - Karen? Pretty sure LC and 5 others had applied this season . . .

Catdog Rovers
Absolutely zero chance of Cockfosters getting the required ground-grading where they are now. As for the original question, it doesn't look like anything has really changed at London Colney's ground since last season. So I can't see the end result being any different. That being said, I'm not sure what they failed on last season. So... Anything could happen.
Karen Browne
According to a club source I spoke to last season after their inspection they failed on outside access to toilets and second turnstile had no electricity.
Catdog Rovers
Well if that's the case, it should be quite easy to remedy. Punch a hole through the toilet wall and get a long extension cable. Job done.
cock o the north
Good luck to those eight clubs aspiring to the giddy heights of the Southern League or elsewhere. The high probability is that seven will be disappointed and yes, Cockfosters will not face that heartache. Best advice to those who seek Step 4 and beyond - Be careful of what you wish for. Substantial funding for players, contracted or otherwise. Travel time & costs. Leaving home mid afternoon for midweek games and getting back at silly o'clock in the morning. Most trips will involve coach travel - hundreds of pounds each time the coach leaves the garage. It is a very well run league who have an AGM in Torquay - attendance essential which lasts approx. 30 minutes and cost c£150 per Club. Unless your Club is "Bottom-less Pit United" Good Luck to you!! All fair points but you have to have ambition. Otherwise what's the point?? I've said before, there is no shame in Step 5 SSMFL. If you can't afford to go up at this present time, that's fine, but what's the 3, 5 and 7 year plan? All clubs should aspire to gain promotion, no matter what their league or financial situation. If there are problems, what are the solutions and how do we achieve them? It's all part of the journey.

In the Southern Central, apart from Petersfield, Fleet and Farnborough, all our away games are no more than an hour away. So far we have only used a coach once to Farnborough but that was only 52 miles away. The league are very good at arranging local games midweek, so travelling kept to a minimum. If games get P-P, the 2 clubs arrange the rescheduled game to suit both. We did enter the league at the beginning of the season with trepidation, but have been surprised how it has worked out. As you say, all part of the journey.
