Hayes and Yeading 1 (PUTMAN) Kettering 2

Lewis Putman had a blinder and got made Man of the Match from the Hayes supporters, which was well justified. He scored one and had a few other notable chances.

H and Y were unlucky to lose. Had the elements stayed fine, H and Y may have got something from the game.

First half Kettering were average at best. Second half they came out with more resolve and scored from two corners in very rainy conditions.

To me Kettering didn't deserve to win as they did but H and Y after starting off well for the first 60 minutes ran out of steam.

Being in the relegation places, Hayes and Yeading are struggling for luck and on this evidence, the ex Kings Langley managers now the Hayes managers, have a mountain to climb to get Hayes out of the quagmire of the bottom of the league places.

From a Slough perspective, if Lewis Putman can play like this for the rest of his month's loan, he's going to come back very sharp to our team, which is exactly what we are hoping for.

Seems a win-win situation for both teams. We get 'Putts' still playing against good defenders in this division and Hayes get a goal threat, which they desperately need.

3spirit, did Putts play wide or as a central striker?

As i said on saturday's thread to have Guy and Warren getting rest time Dobbo getting 70 min rest on sat and Putts getting game time it will be like having new refreshed players coming back into the squad for the business end of the season.

With the new additions this is the strongest squad Bakes and Unders have assembled.

What an exciting few months we have to look forward to.

The squad will need our support more than ever to get that prize that we all want.

he played left of a front 3, so 4/3/3 or 4/5/1 however you want to look at it.

It's funny that you said that Neil, because Putts was on the left wing for large parts of the game but ofen found himself high up the pitch in field, as though he was playing as a striker.

On the day,he looked the classiest attacking player out of both sides and really should have have had two goals to his name, rather than just the one, after he beat three Kettering defenders to get a his shot away, which beat the keeper and went very close but unfortunately for Hayes and Yeading, the wrong side of the post.
