You're saying he's not better than Togs or Dunn but how do you know that, especially as he's far more experienced than both of them and played at a higher level for longer? Plus we have lost 4 in a row which is why we're bringing in new players so I don't think you can say any player is sure of his place at the moment.

Togs is more of a holding midfielder so if Manny Williams is to start IMO it will be at the expense of Simon Dunn or Nathan Webb.

My guess is that we will play a  4 4 2 with Togs, Simon Dunn, Manny Williams and Dobbo as our midfield 4.

Having said that it doesn't look like either Manny Williams or Ashan Holgate have played a lot of football this season so it's a guess as to their fitness levels.

I might be wrong but I think Manny Williams has played in the last 4 games for Hungerford scoring once in the four, so if that is the case he should be easily ready to play for Slough.

3Spirit He scored the opening goal in the 4-1 win against Gosport earlier this month and the 87th min equalizer in the 2-2 draw with Eastbourne Borough.

So 2 goals in 4 matches. That's even better. Let's hope he adds to his tally today !

3spirit, I think I'm right in saying that Manny Williams has, in the main, been a sub in their games only getting limited minutes from the bench.

I was going on the basis they both play their positions very well for us and after today's game would still hold that oppionion but in our new narrower setup he was very good behind the front 2

Neil/Jon, are Tom Biss and James Granger still training with the club or (as I'm presuming) released? Are there likely to be any further signings this season to further boost our ambitions or would we now only bring in someone if multiple injuries or suspensions occur?

Tom Biss unfortunatley can not commit, he does not drive and therefore struggles midweek with living near Clapham, so has left the club.

James Granger did not come on to great affect in the Chippenham game, and whilst we know what a good player he could be, a number of fans that day were incredibly harsh to him and at one point when he was on the ball started singing the circus theme, with his Dad in attendance and who is pretty high up with the Scottish FA he was not impressed at all, for what was a 19 year old kid makimg his debut for a club, and he decided that he would not want to stay with us.

So nothing we could do about that one.

In terms of other signings, nothing in particular at this stage, we have Guy back now and Smarty has proved he is very good cover at centre half also, obviously if we pick up injuries we will need to look into that.

Yes did feel for James as it was a poor debut and every touch went wrong. Shame as he had a decent pedigree and who knows after a few more games could have seen how good he could be but obviously his dad seems a tad over sensitive and surely he must know from experience fans are like this! Not saying it's right but it's all part of the game and you have to learn to take it on the chin.

Never like players getting stick from their own fans even if it's deserved after several bad performances but when it's a youngster on debut it's a bit off.

Many years ago I was at a game when a gangly young 18 year old made his debut for QPR. After an hour the home fans were booing him and calling for him to be subbed. Last week he became the oldest player at 36 to score his 100th prem league goal to add to the 37 he scored in other leagues and 22 for England.

Wonder if the people saying he would never make it still remember Peter Crouch.
