Leamington's floodlights

David, it's just a bit of light hearted humour. I don't think anybody suggested that we should send a raiding party to Leamington to nail a written accusation of blatant cheating to their door. It will be interesting to see what the reaction is if it happens again. Would the visiting club be entitled to claim their travelling expenses for the abandoned games?

You couldnt make it up! Leamington have announced that their floodlight problem is caused by using "too much electric" and have decided to close all in house catering turn off all heating and hot air blowers in toilets outside caterers will be brought in.

Actually this is very plausible and was the root cause of the floodlight issues at Stag Meadow.

When an electricity supply is installed the head unit will be limited. We had a 100 amp (I think) head unit and the reason our lights kept going out was because they were trying to draw too much electric.

We initially went through the same fault finding exercise as they seem to be by shutting down any non-required items.

We managed to get around the issue by initially having a generator and then taking over a transformer left behind by one of the phone companies.

Thanks mal316 always good to hear from someone in the know I just had a mental picture of some poor sod sticking his hands under the dryer and the lights fail.

You may joke, but that was pretty much the situation at Stag Meadow before we fixed it!!

Nothing to do with not paying the bill, or the taxman?
