Vs Maidenhead

Might not have been a two footed tackle but it did look a reckless one .

I am a bit more concerned about the poor defending of late.Another point which crops up a lot its mentioned from time to time  so and so comes from playing in a higher league, if that is the case why have they dropped down, the same could be said the other way players from lower leagues moving up.

When you compete in the B & B Cup you will get B & B Match Officials who I am afraid to say are not the best in the country.  Take a look at the football league list of match officials and to the best of my knowledge there is one Referee and one Assistant Ref from B & B. Other counties have numerous ones on the list.

There has never been many on the list from our area, Don't know why this is.

A very difficult job though and I am sure not one many of us would like to do.

Seems the maidenhead advertiser are rolling with the headline

"Horrendous tackle could have broken rene's leg"

Don't think they have watched the video then

I think the paper may have been speaking to Maidenhead coach Sam Lock , who put something similar on twitter shortly after the game , but no comment since the video came out !!

Back in the day we always used to moan about shocking B&B officials. So, nothing's changed

seemingly!

On to Saturday and a big game against Chippenham. Let's have a win with a big crowd.

As we've got Leamington next week, what chance the floodlight failure excuse?

Personally I don't think they will ever go by a photo because sometimes the camera view/angle can be misleading.

I think the video definitely shows that Guy didn't go in two footed. Also how can you do a tackle/sliding tackle without showing your studs?

I've looked at it a few times and I'm not sure if the refs view was a little obstructed by Lee Togwell?

Also think Steer's reaction i.e. thumping the ground in apparent agony was a tad of an over reaction and possibly helped the ref show a red card.

As I put up the Quote about the advertiser not the FA

Ha ha you do make me laugh that you still keep up the pretence that you are not Hotspur/Lino and whoever else you have registered as.... I went to pick you up on it the other day when you were mentioning what a good player Alan Devonshire was, whilst remembering a while back that on a previous thread you made a statement that you were not very old and that you don't remember any of the old times or players.... must have watched a lot of Alan Devonshire videos instead...

Extremely tedious!

I've read the article in the back page of the M'head Advertiser today written by Dan Darlington and it seems the headline about the 'horrendous tackle that could have broken Rene's leg' was taken from a quote by Alan Devonshire.

Bit hypocritical of Dan Darlington that has gone with that 'attention grabbing headline' when he actually stated in his after match report that he thought it was a 50/50 challenge.

What a strange reaction to my post, I know Devonshire was a good player because my dad and uncle are West Ham supporters as well as Slough. No mention about the rest of the article referring to players  from different leagues either coming up or dropping down.

Just read online the Maidenhead article..... most ridiculous thing I have ever read. They defend their player for a similar tackle that guy did. And call us ridiculous for defending guy. It seems their poor player only carried on for the meer 50 odd minutes due to adrenaline. Amusing what adrenaline can do for you. And also the head line is over top and obviously Alan Devonshire wanted it made clear oh and that they were starting to get the better of us even before the red..... who you trying to kid

Gallant effort it seemed like to me! Not the end of the world and shows we can compete!

Surprised no one have mentioned their first goal, Dan Hicks, was he running in treacle? I know Tarpey is quick but blimey!! If could have hung onto 2-0 until half time that would have been massive!

Wasn't to be but onto the league and more important stuff!

Don`t keep your footr at right angle to your extended leg, point your toes down & in line with your lower leg Studs not facing ball / opponent you also get a slightly longer reach. That's how I always went to a slid tackle never had a problem with it.

Or even Slide tackle

Ref explanation does not fit the evidence. No clue what appeal process is but surely video proof disproving what ref has explained to Guy goes a long way to getting it overturned. Wouldn't be surprised if the powers that be back their inept officials though to save face.

After initially giving it as his reason for sending Guy off it seems there was no mention of a 'two footed tackle' in the ref's report.

Possibly the reason why we have withdrawn our appeal.
