Vs Maidenhead

It was a good combative local derby and I agree if it had stayed at 11 v/s 11 we looked the more likely to win. The game also gave an indication that we could hold our own in a higher league. This supports the manager's decision to bring in more experienced Conference players this year. The Slough fans were also superb, just hope we see them at Arbour Park.

My only concern is if Guy is suspended for three games do we have sufficient cover for a very difficult period of games. Should we look for an experienced centre back on loan as cover?

I hope t is not too long before we play the Magpies again. We are due a result over them.

Ref explanation does not fit the evidence. No clue what appeal process is but surely video proof disproving what ref has explained to Guy goes a long way to getting it overturned. Wouldn't be surprised if the powers that be back their inept officials though to save face.

I wasn't at the game so didn't see Guys tackle in person but looking at the video I would doubt the FA will overturn in. The referee is in a good position (better than the camera) Guy does leave the ground with his studs showing towards the player and he doesn't get a huge amount of contact with the ball. I can't and won't compare it to the maidenhead possible second yellow / red card but neither will the FA so its no use trying to say why one is and one isn't when presenting it to get Guys red rescinded.

A crowd of 1,112 is fantastic on a cold Tuesday night when there is footy on TV but for it to be in the B&B cup is incredible and a sure sign that people are talking about and are interested in the two local clubs which is great. hopefully a few will turn up on Saturday for what is sure to be another tough game.

If they show the video and Gary's photo of the 3's challenge they might change their headline.

Personally I don't think they will ever go by a photo because sometimes the camera view/angle can be misleading.

I think the video definitely shows that Guy didn't go in two footed. Also how can you do a tackle/sliding tackle without showing your studs?

I've looked at it a few times and I'm not sure if the refs view was a little obstructed by Lee Togwell?

Also think Steer's reaction i.e. thumping the ground in apparent agony was a tad of an over reaction and possibly helped the ref show a red card.

Try perhaps bending your knee ! make contact with the ball with your laces or your shin.

I'm in the same position as SRJ in that I couldn't make the game and only have the video to look at. I have to agree, I would be surprised if the red card was rescinded. It's such a shame it came early in the game when we were fully on top, by all accounts, and went on to have such an impact on the result. And it's an even bigger shame that we will probably now lose Guy for forthcoming league match(es).
