Confirmed that Mark Betts and Jon Palmer as joint managers of Burnham FC.

Best of luck to the both of them in what will be a challenging few months ahead. Not sure where this leaves Mark Betts in terms of his commitments with Slough but he is a really nice guy and whatever the arrangements I can only wish him the best and hope he will be successful.

This as been done with our utmost blessing, most will know that Jon Palmer is also a very good friend of ours.

Bettsy role with Slough will also remain.

The opportunity came up for Bettsy and Palms, and after a few conversations we felt that it could hugely beneficial to not only Burnham but ourselves as a club.

The jump from academy to Southern Premier in particular is a huge step, and with Bettsy and Palms in at Burnham this can give some lads an opportunity of senior football.

Also in the past a number of our senior players have played for a variety of local teams, which is actually quite difficult to arrange, and with Jeff Lamb stepping down at Ascot, it has been made even harder for us, so the link with Burnham will mean that we have the ability to get our players minutes at Burnham.

A winning start for Betts and Palmer. 2-1 win over Henley, with several Slough Town players including; Dan Hicks, Gurkan Gokmen, Pripal Raju, Stephen Bennet, Oscar Betts and possibly a few more in the squad (im not that familiar with our academy/ u18s so there could be a few I have missed).

Any chance we will see an offer like some other clubs do ,of letting Slough season tickets holders in at Burnham for a fiver ? If that was the case would certainly pop along if no Slough game on or if I could not make an away game. Assume a few went yesterday as it was Burnham biggest gate of the season !
